    so i now tested your mod and combat is so much better than in vanilla! the only thing i noticed is that cavalry seems to be terribly slow and infantry is also a bit slow while running! can you increase the movement-speed to its normal values?

    Is there a version that doesn't increase unit size? As this game already runs pretty poorly as is.

    jackless, these are normal unit speeds, they are not slow, they even match the unit animation more then vanilla speeds which were soo fast that they looked more like a Benny Hill gag This also requires more tactical unit placement from you, since you can't just aid your endangered flank in 5 seconds.


    Chris, version with towers nerfed (not I know what you were talking about, I had one of these battles last week and wooden tower was sniping my units almost from half the map xD) will be released today

    After new release later today/late at night next version will be somwhere around mid next week.

    Just decrease unit size in graphic options.

    Hi KAM,

    I have two questions about your mod.

    1. You increased the unit size with this mod. Will this be save game compatible at some point, meaning that my already recruited units will get the unit size increase or do I have to recruit new units anyway?

    2. I know that you haven't rebalanced the unit costs, but will upkeep costs stay on vanilla level or be higher/lower than vanilla? I used to play with Radious Mod which decreases the unit upkeep, but it was too easy with it. I was able to field 6 fully stacked high tier armies with only owning 6 regions. On the other side, with vanilla unit costs I can only field 3 of these armies with the same empire. Something in the middle would be good.
    Do you know what you want to end up with regarding upkeep costs?

    I believe I can answer pretty well.

    1. Its savegame compatible but you do have to recruit new units to get the size increase

    2. The upkeep is increased (for example as Sassanids Savaran cataphracts were 500 upkeep and Persian bowmen were 255) but makes sense regarding the increased unit size.

    Is there any way to greatly reduce the aim of large ballistic artillery like Onagers versus MOVING targets only? Them sniping my Scout Equites in full gallop gets very frustrating!

    but there seems to be an issue with cavalry while charging. it looks like theyre moving in slow-mo. when they ride fast it looks quite normal but when they go into charge mode they really look ultra slow.
    can you check that? cavalry charges arent really nice to watch at the moment.

    Cavalry charges will stay as they are, they are already faster then in regular DeI. If horses get tired, their charge will be of course slower. Different cav formations also give boost to charge speed and moving speed. Of course you can always manually change my values with PFM, changes you want to have can be done under a minute Just go to battle_entities and increase run/charge speed of unit classes you want.

    Nerdwing, yes, that can be done, I will add this to the current patch.

    As for the upkeep costs, they will be around the level of vanilla upkeep as CA this time used something similar to what I use. Main difference will be with lowest and high end units. Lowest units and high end units will have their upkeep increased.

    I should get next patch in around 2 hours.

    Registered just to say...I LOVE YOU GOGOGO! Waited 1 year to play Rome just for DEI. Loved DEI. I think we need to face reality - the future of Rome2 is in Attilla with a massive period mod. Please keep going with this for Attila. When I first loaded it up and saw the cavalry units warp across the screen I ragequit instantly to desktop to wait for you to make this.

    Changelog 0.3 (28.02.2015):
    -pikes taken out of game - credits to ingvard1979
    -towers damage, reload and range nerfed a lot, but in exchange they shot multiple arrows
    -closer deployment zone - credits to Sheridan
    -all Norsemen units rebalanced
    -onagers should be less accurate vs units
    -fatigue system rebalanced - still not perfect

    And some bonus info.

    My work is going a bit faster then I planned so I might even end all nations by next weekend. With this update current playable nations are ERE, WRE, Sassanids, Saxons, Geats, Jutes and Danes. Germanic nations share most of their units so they should go a bit faster, while Hunnic units are pretty much unique.

    Next update should have a bit more morale and fatigue tweaks, some formation and abilities changes and Germanic nations rebalanced.

    Next update release planned around 4-5 of March as of now I won't be able to mod until Monday.
