    Default Recruits Lower Population Yes or No

    After having read the manual, I noticed that the recruitment pools do not say anything that your population is decreased or increased when you build or disband units. They only affect the pool which is directly linked to the buildings in the settlement. For someone who has the game, does creating units lower the population of the city / castle?

    also, in the manual, it said if you have more than one of a building, (say to cavalry stables), the unit will replenish twice as fast. If this is true, i think it might make it too easy to build a bunch of strong units.

    It only lowers the buildpool, not the population.

    Is the buildpool based on a percentage/ratio of the population?

    Nope, its based on the level of city/castle and the actual buildings used to make the units.

    I think. Population may have some say in it, but so far I haven't seen anything to suggest it.

    well even if it doesnt population regulates the higher lved settlements castle and city so its not like a population of 400 people will be pumping out major armys...
    Total War Games aren't really improving with each generation, simply changing eras...

    Good to hear that population count does not decrease. Always hated in RTW you could not recruit many units because the population was around 400.
