Most favorite faction

Mainly because Lucifer Hawk, the creator of the great GEMFX mod asked for it (this is the least I can do for him) and the constant of Phobos started to getting on my nerves I decided to create this poll! Of course I myself am also interested in the results!

Since this is a DeI forum only factions are available to choose which are playable in this mod (those are 36!!! with all DLC)

If your most favorite faction is a non-playable one (only available through all-factions-submod) just choose your second most favorite faction!

I hope for great participation! Have fun voting and seeing what others like.

Suevi all the way. Closest thing to my home and I just love the idea of sacking the out of Rome. Though there are some minor flaws that needs correction with this faction it is still awesome to play it. Especially if you go for a more immersive playstyle and go nuts on everyone, declaring war with nearly every faction surrounding you.

I would highly recommend downloading KAMs Experimental Battle Pack. The BAI is soo much better and units are more balanced. It will increase the difficulty but not to a point where you will rage quit or anything.

From what i saw it make arrows very deadly (its all good for me) but well Very heavy unit must be the key of battles not archers...
I dont know i havent tried it yet, i need more reviews.

Archers are very deadly ? more than melee units ?
What about cavalry ?
What about lenght of battles ?
What about siege tower ?

You know all these question are in my mind...

Read the thread. There are numerous reviews and KAM also states what changes it implement
Archers are not more deadly than melee units. This would not make it realistic.
Cavalry is deadly but will take more casualties withdrawing to prevent the player from just ramming them into the enemies rear over and over again.
The length of battles are almost the same but tougher
Siege towers? These are at many points hardcoded but they are still balanced.

There is very very few drawbacks to this and KAM is constantly updating it. No matter what it is better than the main mod itself. At least that is my opinion and I have played freakishly many battles with DeI for testing purposes.

I did not make mistake, it's two of us
I really like unit roster and geographical postion, but it is a easy choice for me as long it's my ancestors country and we still speak same language and live in same place as 2,5 thousands years ago, though a lot is lost... My dad is far from video gaming, but he really enjoyed watching game map and units and told more detailed information about some units and history behind them. (Well, my mom then enjoyed some music from Rome 2 when she was around lol) It's so great that DEI have original names for units and I for one can understand meaning of those, because old language holds so much in it. This is special feeling to play a classical era with such a special mod, but you know it could be a lot better, let see if CA sooner or later will give all tools to a moders.

The thing is as i said I'm really worried that archers became very powerfull, its just that.

Carthage all the way!

They have versatility in viable army composition that can only be matched by late-game Rome with Auxiliaries, but even Rome is always anchored to its legionaries. Carthage can form a solid, flexible army of almost any style with its roster and plentiful mercenaries. Plus, their early campaign is chaotic and challenging in a way few factions (except maybe Epirus or Seleukids) can match. Despite being rich and powerful, fending off all of your enemies is a big challenge.

Odrysian Kingdom are definitely my favourites. Thracians were very poor in Rome 1 and in Rome 2 they were made into "charge&winorlose" kinda faction. In DEI there are so many more useful units to supplement the devastating rhomphaia charge, it makes them fun to play. Also their starting position is one of the hardest in my opinion since you are the only Balkan culture in the province with Celtic and Hellenic slowly taking over, forcing you to move and conquer! Not counting 6-7 wars declarations the moment you end the first turn

Odrysian Kingdom + Epirus in coop campaign is a lot of fun and I do recommend it to anybody looking for a challenge. The struggle is real!

Too bad I can't vote on polls :| Odrysia will have to stay at 0 for now, but at least those cowardly spartans that spam demands and then beg for peace when you are about to raze their village have 0 as well

I find it interesting that so many people picked the Antigonids over the Seleucids. Is it because of the historical ties to Alexander the Great? I found the Seleucid roster to be much stronger, although their startpos is a good deal easier.

With Antigonidai, does the start more or less set you up for a second Alexandrian empire? I know they start with pretty strained relations with all of Greece and Tylis, but that's about it.
