40 unit armies
So I recently started to play DeI and I must say that his mod is one my new favorites, hats off to all of you in the DeI team. I do have a couple of comments though: I recently started playing with 40 unit army campaigns but I noticed that the AI is very passive in creating 40 stacks. I have usually found myself just steam rolling factions left and right with my legions. Should I up the difficulty to hard perhaps?

Re: 40 unit armies
I would say so. If the mod does not change the upkeep for units then even though the AI is able to create armies with 40 units it will not do so if it does not have the income for it. So I would say that you need to up the Campaign difficulty to insure that the AI have the funds to actually build and maintain that high amount of units.
Lowering the upkeep would not solve the problem since that would just make you able to field more and stronger armies aswell.
This is just my guess to what could be a possible solution, but since Im not using this submod myself I cannot say what consequences this will have or not have on your campaign.

Re: 40 unit armies
My head to head opponent and I play 40 unit armies, we gave the AI (playable factions) a bonus to income of 5000 gold, we also use this mod "Hard/Very Hard Multiplayer Campaign, Normal Battles", though as single player you won't need it.
I have also tinkered with the mod to make the battles a bit more brutal, as in head to head and playing against a human, the slow pace of the battles can quite often hit the 1 hour mark, and we don't dare have unlimited time in battles.
The only problem with the 40 unit armies in single player DEI is the Garrisons will be a push over, and the game will run poorly in battles where the men get compressed, bridge battles, city and towns.
