I wonder why the Blood DLC from rome 2 cannot be converted over to Attila, its the same engine and everything.

I want to know why someone can't make a blood mod to use until the official DLC is out.

No blood is basically killing this game for me after getting so used to it in Rome 2.

Shut up and take my money CA!

While I totally agree in principle; pragmatism and impatience have made me more than willing to give them £2-3 to be able to fully enjoy my new game.

I think the big difference in opinion is mostly down to how much time you spend zoomed in just watching fights unfold vs zoomed out and giving orders (or just watching the battle on a wider front). Though I think an unhealthy dose of Total war game fatigue might be at work too.

It's the main reason I just can't really enjoy modern TW games without mods to slow down the combat and actually give me some quality time to watch the fisticuffs close in. Only really zooming out periodically to keep an eye on the bigger picture and issue orders as necessary. (even a decisive flank charge will still take a good 2-5 mins with something like Radious mod)

Maybe it's because I'm a little bored by just the strategy alone after 8+ TW games (so-so AI probably dosen't help there either, nothing has ever really come close to the challenge of Darth Napoleon etc. and the TAI is locked off to modders since rome2 ) so a great deal of my pleasure from Rome 2 and now Attila is zooming in to watch the violent ballet from various angles (with GFX fidelity previous TW games could only dream of).

Basically what I'm saying is a big chunk of my enjoyment now comes from the cinematic aspect of the game and after Rome 2 with blood & dismemberment Attila without it feels like watching a PG13 war film after having just come off the back of Ironclad or Saving private Ryan etc.

Yeah, blood and gore for 1 euro and an option to turn off "blood" on the screen, when zoomed in, would be great.

I do, but its pretty much a pipe dream now. I have to say, as well, that the impact of blood and/or gore on a game like Rome 2 or Attila is huge compared to the impact it had (or didn't have) on RTW and M2TW. The motion capture moves look much more ridiculous with any sort of blood/gore than the "simpler" animations from the pre-Warscape games do. It reminds me of a cheeseball PG-13 movie where people get stabbed and shot without any blood.

This needs to be out ASAP. Should have been a day one option, quite ridiculous really.

It took a little less than two months between R2 release and the blood DLC so that's probably near the time frame.

It took that long in R2 because of the disastrous launch they had and the time spent just to fix the basics, they couldn't just sell us DLCs with the state the game was in, Attila is different.

Source for this? It took eight months to release blood DLC for Shogun 2.

    Because capitalism, that's why!

On a more serious note I'm willing to give CA/Sega the benefit of the doubt over the whole needing to be behind a paywall to avoid a mature rating/draconian German regulations. I just wish they'd had it ready to roll out on release, as from my POV the game has effectively not been fully released yet and as such I can't really get any quality time in with it.

Back to Rome 2 for now anyway. Hopefully there will be some nice juicy unit pack mods and such by the time CA/Sega release the blood DLC too!
