    sounds like some file's are left in the registry, so that when you insert the disc it appears that rome is installed when it is not which would mean you will have to manually uninstall . right click and delete all rtw bi and alex files you can find, and then search the registry and delete anything on rome etc (you have to be careful to not delete non rtw entries or you stop other programs from running!!!!).if you get it all out you will be able to re-install.

    or just pop in the disc and choose uninstall which cleans the registry automatically.

    then delete -> install.

    that would be best definatly but not sure that it is possible when i read this " i tryed to deleting the folder but the install button is still greyed out" did you try to uninstall or delete? anyway if it won't unistall from the disc or add and remove then you will have to delete manually and clean the registry, there is a download for a registry cleaner, i have just discovered !! I was looking through some threads and there was one which detailed all these procedures which will probably give you your answer, its : Problems installing/uninstalling RTW or the patch?
