    The Dark Age of Europa

    The campaign will start in 486 AD ten years after the fall of Rome and the last western Roman claiming to be emperor is kill this is where you adventure will start factions will be
    Frank's
    Saxon
    Visagoths
    Vandals
    Kingdom of Oduacer
    Ostrogoths
    Eastern Roman empire
    Persians

    And minors will be added the barbarian factions will be able to reform into the christian kingdoms some became like the Saxons of Britain ultimately the player will have that choice
    Each of the factions will have unit rosters catered to the time frame and will evolve based on your decision

    Once the tools are released I will start work on units and campaign map but right now my mod will need lots of research done on this time frame anyone who is willing to join pm me thanks !!!

    Your map shows Roman Empire under Zeno before he 'ordered' suggested with an incentive to Theodoric to overthrow Odoacer in Italy.

    Was hoping someone would do this. Would be cool to have a campaign about two centuries later with the Frankish conquests and Charlemagne and all that too. Anyways, good luck.

    This is an awesome era to choose. Remember that Prophet Mohammed is also starting the rise of Islam in the east too. You'll have to call him John or Roger though if you include him in the game.

    Jesus is starting Christianity during Augustus campaign, but we do not include him

    Yes Islamic factions will be included but Iwon't be adding the religion into the game as I don't no how make custom religion the focus will be on the barbarian factions becoming kingdoms towards the 1000 AD I would like to get William the conqueror era as last reform era my mod will span this time mid era reforms will be around the 700 AD with the Vikings raiding the Saxon British kingdoms

    That would entail a huge amount of military and social/political change across the entire map. I would suggest taking it in stages, stick to this era a Zeno to Justinian (perhaps later to see Lombard invasion of Italy, plus Avars and Slavs in the Balkans. Perhaps then another scenario could see Charlemagne etc

    To accurately represent the Dark Ages and the Huge emergence of Islam I would split this up into too projects, one pre and one post Islams rise.

    One would have the Roman Empire hoping to reclaim their old lands aswell as the emerging Germanic Kingdoms offering a more traditional playstyle.

    The later one would have the Islamic world facing the newly created Medieval European.

    Love the period of the Dark Ages. I wish you good work.
    May I say something about the title 'Age of Darkness'? That last word, 'Darkness' seems to emphasize something literal, viz., no light; whereas, it is just a metaphor for an Age which was one in which learning and historical records were scarce, therefore, it was a period of history dimly seen. I would humbly suggest going back to 'The Dark Ages Mod' or 'Dark Ages Total War' or 'Barbarian Kingdoms' or 'The Rise of Kingdoms' or 'Merovingian and Charlemagnian Kingdoms' or 'Early Middle Ages'...

    great idea, but at that start date you should have a romano british faction in the west of britian, that would make me very happy
