Hello Everyone just some breaking news for anyone who is having problems like me. The reason gem for Attila was not working cause something was wrong with my runtimes.

After much painstaking effort this week trying to get it to work it has.

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...n-1-0-7/page12

I stumbled on an old thread which recommend people try to reinstall the runtimes if they were facing problems with rome 2. This is why I was sure it there could nothing be wrong with my C+ since rome 2 gem works. I recommend anybody whos Attila just crashes reinstall their runtimes, someone posted links in the linked thread.

Hey there, I think i may have found my solution, as I don't think i did anything different. If you run FRAPS, try turning it off! worked for me!

If you have 64 bit operating system installed, install both 32bit and 64 bit. If you have 32 bit operating system only install 32bit.

Thanks sausageson, hopefully that will be helpful.
Now im actually running into an issue where it works, but I can't seem to adjust any of the settings. Not even activate or deactivate. I should be able to edit these on the fly while the game is running in (say) a battle correct? No matter what I do in game nothing seems to change, even obvious things like monochrome in sweetfx.

I don't think you can deactivate GEMFX like before with a key, you have to go in to the menu and deactivate it, to get the menu press /

If you don't get a menu then GEMFX is not working.

Well done... much more than I expected!

Question... I know RTW2 had the camera unit zoom... but for the life of me I can not locate it for ATW - I really like the initial shots with the units marching!

I actually used the delete key for that
It keeps the camera locked on the unit but allows you to rotate around and such
