There he stood in his black mourning garb and crown. His armor was glistening, his and his heart was thirsty, thirsty for the blood of his enemies, thirsty for the blood of oath breakers and cutthroats who had taken his son away from him before his time !

From the mist his army came at dawn, chanting the name of the dead prince

If you work to earn a living, why then do you work yourself to death?

Either you installed it into the wrong location or you activated 64bit in the configurator. Otherwise you would always have a GEMFX.log file for R2 or Attila.

I did try a battle! I've played so many battles and they just do not display the GEM effects. When I managed to get UI Bypass working, with your custom dxd.dll or whatever it's called (the one you uploaded a couple of days ago separate from the installer), I got about 6-9fps i battles and on campaign map, and managed to get the GEM effects ingame! However, it is unplayable, obviously. It also seems like when I have the UI bypass enabled, GEM doesnt "show" before the splash screen is gone, while without, it shows even during the initial splash screen when you start the game. My computer runs Windows 8.1. Works great in Rome 2, though, so I dont see why it should be a problem here. Any help would be appreciated as I love your mod so much and love taking screenshots with it!

Hi, I too am having a problem getting the mod to work. Once it is downloaded I double click the file and it extracts to the correct folder. To activate it I click on the blue configurator logo and activate GEM. When I go to launch the game it crashes on loading screen. Have tried it in compatibility mode etc but still will not work unless I check the 64 bit box which allows the game to load but no GEM in game. Am I doing everything right? Do I need to use the / key to activate it in game? Not at home at moment so I don't know. I have pressed the F9, F10 and pause keys but still no joy.

I have reinstalled the mod three times, it is on the Attila's folder. I dont know it it happens because the game crashes when i try to run it without the 64bit in the confgurator, but i dont have any log. Should i have other files outside Attila?? Maybe the problem is that i have it installed on my second hard drive?

I have Win 8.1 and I can only see the GEMFX effects when I enable the compability Mode (then it works fine), but with the UI-By-Pass, my FPS Drops to 5-10, what is NOT playable =)...

I tried to use this Mod without the By-Pass then, but then I have a really huge Problem: In the tactic Battle Mode, i cant place my troops at the beginning of the battle, because I only have a black Screen:

After I click on Start Battle ("Gefecht starten" in german), I can Play the battle without Problems and all of the amazing graphic effects...

    Here is my GEMFX.log

OK, please Forget this part... I am an Idiot :-P
To test the GEMFX, I startet a historical Battle, where you CANT place the troops at the beginning...

In custom battles, it is possible to do this, so the game (and the Mod) work correctly for me.

But is there another Workaround to get the UI By-Pass work without those FPS Drops?

I tried to use this Mod without the By-Pass then, but then I have a really huge Problem: In the tactic Battle Mode, i cant place my troops at the beginning of the battle, because I only have a black Screen:

If your doing a historical battle then screen will always be black at start. Try custom battle and see what happens.

Can't make the offline preview work, tried installing SlimDX and it still crashes.

For me GEM isn't playable with UI Bypass activated, the framerate drop to 5-7 FPS. It looks beautiful though

Hi Billydilly, would you mind taking the time to read my post above and tell me if you used the same steps as me to install mod? Thanks in advance

Attila badly need some warm, vibrant and bright colors, at the vanilla stage it is just to bland, grey, and booring, hope this mod can rectify that

Also i need some clarification, we only need to install the 278MB GEMFXv1_0_8_ATW? we dont have to download and use the GEMFX from Rome II workshop and copy paste it into the Attila data folder and the enable everything with Mod Manager or something for it to work?

Hello, here you have my settings for Rome II and ATTILA using the current GEMFX version Lucifer offred us as blessing for our hungry eyes: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/66hd7u74857dq

Two sample pics are included in the download folder; don't forgot to balance you gamma-brightness settings accordingly with your final preferences.
