Yes have the preview.jpg + SlimDX

Now it opens the Preview under the GEM settings after i disabled UI bypass, but still crashes instantly.

You might want to try in compatibility mode then. Anyway, that feature is pretty much WIP and I will change the rendering sooner or later for that preview picture.

Can you ppl with UI-By-Pass problems please try out <<obsolete>> and report if it worked!

No help, GEM effects disappear right after starter loading screen and FPS drops to ground

Are you sure you use these settings here? Can you open the GEMFX menu ingame?

Yes i can open the menu if you mean that orange top bar? During UI bypass. Only menu works, but not effects.

Some of my settings are higher than yours and some less. But i don't see how it is relevant.

GEM without bypass - Pretty looking + 40-60 fps ingame
GEM with bypass - Vanilla game looking + 20 fps ingame

It doesnt work for me. I install the standalone version and then Atila wont start, error 41 but if I delete the dxgi.dll files the game works...

Got previous version working in Attila but nice to see that the "official" version came quickly. Nice! There's no Total War game without GEM from now on I fear!

    Hi,

tested it with the new file. Now GEM does not activate at all. No menu etc.. But pause=reload button still seems to try to reload it. Other buttons won't work

Do not give up so fast, I am already working on a more precise algorithm. Will post the file in a second.

Here you go, try this one please:: <<obsolete>>

I never give up! It just temporal. If i would, i would not be here

Btw, some additional info when i'm enabling the UI bypass, the starting loading screen is almost black, so dark that only middle logo can be seen. It is normal red without UI bypass. Maybe it is intend etc... Does not hurt anything, but its just something which catch my eyes.

Did you try the last one I posted? I get that black screen too if I set too loose precision for the algorithm.

With the latest one it works finally with MLAA (Probably intended), but FPS is cut down by 30. Something wrong on my end or you are still working on it?

LuciferHawk, do you know yet what it is that causes the massive slowdown when using GEM for Attila?
As soon as I load up GEM (UI bypass on, compatibility mode checked - Win 8.1) I run into sever slowdown, to the extent that even the SEGA logo lags! the main menu is incredibly chjoppy and battles chugging along at 10fps - although it does look pretty whilst doing so: GEM is obviously active

    any thoughts?

    thanks!

After this log entry it will/should be as if there is not UI-By-Pass activated. It just renders GEMFX in another place of Attila's rendering::

The stuttering is really no issue. It will go away automatically once the UI-By-Pass works. Did you try to start a battle? I am assuming that everyone has MLAA activated
If it works for no one else I might need to release a debug version so I can see what actually happens on your end.

Here the debug version :: dxgi.zip
    Turn on MLAA in-game.
Make sure GEMFX works without UI-By-Pass.
    Run Attila with UI-By-Pass activated.
Start a battle to see if GEMFX is applied.
If not, then at least try one reload of GEMFX (pause/break key by default).

    Post your GEMFX.log.
It should look something like this if it works::
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

[15:47:49] Thank you for using GEMFX!
    [15:47:49] GEMFX successfully un-hooked from 'attila.exe'

In the example log file you can find one reload of the GEMFX I did during a battle. It searches for the correct ID and when found outputs it with::
"[15:47:09] Identified GUI pID feature: 1252552371"
    "[15:47:09] GUI By-Pass found @ 532614764"

    Good luck!
