    Default Loyalty & Bastards

I've poured hours and hours and i still not haven't an 100% idea of how to deal with all the new features, i manage to get loyalty up and down, but any tips to get loyalty up from a determined character? i mean...... i can't keep assassinating right and left xD or i will have 1-4 year olds bastards and their widow wives

Also...... what is going on with the insane level of bastard children? i've 2 legitimate and...... 8 bastards already and seems to not stop here

You can use the "Secure Loyalty" command on a character with enough influence, then select your low loyalty character.

I do agree though that the spawn rate of illegitimate children is too high right now haha... I'm sure it will be fixed. Until then... assassination.

    I live by that motto.

    Total War: Bastards $39.99

game of thrones culture pack $7.49 (more assassination, bastards bastards everywhere meme "trait" and "joffrey" trait that turns your faction leader totally nuts and mental MUST KILL THEM ALL) xD

A song of backstabbing and cheating!

I don't want to sound like a noob here, but I'm still trying to figure out some of the mechanics in-game. For example, as the Franks, my high-king has used nearly all of his influence points or whatever on political actions and securing promotions and what-not, but how do I get more influence points? I've given him a decently large army, been in several battles with him, raided with him, etc. but yet his influence stays around 20-25 while my son hasn't really done much and yet has 52 or so influence

Traits and other character related things play a large role in influence building, also the positions they hold in your faction, as well as governorships, etc.

My high king as the Geats right now is by far my number 1 source of my family influence and he doesn't do much.

I think that's a poor mod in all honesty. More children certainly isn't needed, all that is needed is a lower chance of illegitimate children, and perhaps even less overall chance of conceiving and/or a higher infant mortality rate.

I guess it's personal preference but I'd prefer the whole thing to mean that getting a suitable heir is a goal, not a guaranteed occurrence. I'd like my son and heir to be worth something to me, worth a lot in-fact and something to protect, rather than someone I can forget about and simply choose to just swap over to child number 8 if he dies..

I find the family system immensely immersive and it has the possibility of being even more so, at least in my opinion.

I use the wives to get loyalty up. They seem to have a lot of influence on them and the men can use the influence for other things.

i still without words........ after years and promises CA at least managed to deliver a political/family system that has depth and worth the time and effort ^___^ yeah women seem to have alot of influence, i'm getting a grasp on how things work and is paying off getting people inline, assassinate, promote, divorce and marry to get alliances..... but getting too slow progress in getting my settlements to be stable (public order and wealthy) since all is so volatile....bad season, rebel raids, food-disease..... getting painfull to move but its moving.....also everything seems quite expensive :O for one side seems more realistic, on the other hand i'm happy this isn't too easy and so dumb-dumb-fast like rome 2 and previous games where by now i would have 1billion and half the map taken...... but as update.........everyone started to have legitimate children....... but still a bastards fest xD the family won't be wiped out........... WE ALWAYS HAVE THE BASTARDS !!! xD

The new system will take a bit of getting used to, but i must say I am impressed.
I think you should be careful of spending too many influence points on the king though, as I've seen two of my family get a -2 hit to loyalty for them having higher influence themselves than the king (playing as the Geats). In order to get their loyalty back up, the 'secure loyalty' action uses influence itself. So in other words, dont meddle too much and reduce your kings influence.

Oh and yeah wives are really powerful.

Do bastards actually have a negative influence on anything?
