Some ideas: how about incorporating water (ponds, river going through town) inside of the towns? Or a traditional layer of walls outside, like a medieval city wall? I bet you could pull it off

@ Durango85Water inside towns isn't working (I would have loved that...) because rivers are not connected to the town models which are simply laid up on the campaign map. So rivers etc. in towns wouldn't be connected to the rest of the map and look weird
On the other hand medieval town wall are possible and will be added (like the baroque fortifications around Hannover) when I create a town model with a wall^^

That's really nice, I regret that I cannot offer comments of deeper insight but I am not familiar with the structure, all I know is the aesthetics of what I see.
I only wish you would put that talent of yours in the making of better-than-vanilla settlements for M2TW.
