    Default Some observations

I am about 30 turns into my first DEI and for that matter RTW2 campaign, on besieging Syracuse I noticed some annoying observations:

    1. I had besieged the city for six turns and lost circa 70 men a turn, but the defenders did not lose a person, even though they had been starved to death.
    2. The 'Garrison Script' provides the defenders with mainly miltia, who have very strong stats.
    3. Even with an enemy unit surrounded, no AI general, their morale remains high.

I need to know are these observations due to DEI changes or are they generic RTW2?

    1. This is vanilla and...realistic Port cities need to be blocked from land and sea to get attitrion penalties, since they can get food via trade
    2. Which garrison script? You mean the one for Carthage and Rome? All cities get militia units when attacked, depending on the city level and buildings.
    3. If this is about siegies then AI units in cities seem very hard to rout.

Also if you play battles on anything above normal will be unbalanced as AI gets bonuses for attack, def and morale.

    1. What Kam says. However in my campaigns my sieging army loses as many men and the besieged army. I personally think the besieging army should lose less considering all the advantages the defenders already have. Also it would be cool if the men lost was not linear, and followed an exponential rate to simulate the worsening conditions.
    2. Garrisons are much stronger in DEI. They are now able to put up a fair fight without army assistance. The drawback is trying to take down a walled city with a full stack + 20 units garrison defending it. But then a walled city with an army inside is always going to be an epic battle and should never be steamrolled.
    3. There should at least be a downwards arrow next their morale with the following in brackets: attacked in rear. Otherwise something is wrong. A strong unit may still have high morale if surrounded if they still have large numbers of men, not tired, and the battle is can still swing either way.
