    Default Why the Limits?

Last time I played this mod I was able to recruit as many of a particular type of auxiliary as I liked. However, playing the recent version I find that I am only able to recruit 4 units of, in this case, Thessalian cavalry. It is not just a limit to that particular army but to my whole army. The limit feels kind of arbitrary to me. Is there a way I can remove it? Thank you!

Yes, there are some units which should not have a cap such as roman archers, but for certain auxiliary troops they should be limited since it goes against realism.

Aux and AoR units have caps to encourage unit variety. Plus in case of Aux units, they were recruited from certain tribes and their population did not consist of milions I have no access to PFM, but simply go to main_units_tables and change campaign cap for units you want.

ra2z, those "Roman" archers are not Roman, they are recruited from Greeks and Cretans.

Yep ra2z, Rome shouldn't need unlimited archers right in italia, go to Crete, Asia Minor, Syria etc to get a load more archers!

If I set the value to zero could I recruit unlimited numbers of them? Do I have to start a new game for the values to take effect?

Yes if you set the value to zero u can recruit as many as you want and no you don't need to start a new campaign. I recommend though just increasing the number you can recruit by 2 or 3 so it makes building the aux buildings for those units worth it but it also makes you try units you usally wouldn't off.

Hrm. Aren't Equites Extraoreinarrii considered Aux?

I believe I can recruit as many of those as I'd like.

But only 1 Cohors Prima per Army?

If an army is considered a legion (don't play as Rome but I thing it is) only one first cohort wouldn't be that unrealistic.

I like limits. I gave campaign limits between 1 and 10 to all my units above levy level. So I have to use lots of AOR units or levies.
