Default Semi-Unrelated: The best total conversion modded games out there?

So I have been mulling where to post this question, and as it relates to mods and I think this forum has a pretty solid community with similar interests to myself I decided to post here. It is a bit off-topic though, so sorry to anyone who was forced to look at it that did not want to.
    ---
So i've played tons of TW mods to death. EB1 Was my favorite, and EB2 is great and I'm having a blast with some of the eastern factions I hadn't played much previously. I've also enjoyed a bunch of other mods with their own themes, and I'm totally bummed that anything recent TW related has been pretty unmoddable. What I love best about these games is that a terrific game engine can be shared by all these different projects. As a player I only have to learn one set of controls, and one general style of gameplay and UI and I can explore a dozen wonderfully detailed and thought out versions of the game.

I have had similar experiences with only a few other games. Mount and Blade Warband for instance turned out to be a great engine for mods (my favorite being Prophecy of Pendor). Notable mentions that don't quite reach the same level of awesome modder communities and moddability but still had some great diverse and enjoyable total conversion mods include Civ 4 and Galactic Civilizations 2.

I hope there are a few other gems out there that I have not discovered. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Probably the best place to post would be here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forum...52-Other-Games

But anyway. Other style of games but Battlefield 1942/2/2142 were quite good to have total conversions, such as Forgotten Hope 1/2, Project Reality, First Strike (star wars mod). Mount & Blade Warband has some pretty nice mods such as Brytenwalda and etc (brytenwalda being my favorite).
Then, as throngs of his enemies bore down upon him and one of his followers said, "They are making at thee, O King," "Who else, pray," said Antigonus, "should be their mark? But Demetrius will come to my aid." This was his hope to the last, and to the last he kept watching eagerly for his son; then a whole cloud of javelins were let fly at him and he fell.

M&B Warband: Floris is my favorite, although another group of modders have begun working on expanding Floris. Their mod is called A New Dawnand literally just adds even more stuff on top of Floris.

Civ 4: Legends of Revolution fundamentally changes the game, adding revolution mechanics, emerging factions, and, of course, more civs and leaders. Caveman 2 Cosmos builds on the LoR system but adds natural wonders, a variety of animals, and a whole new era, the Prehistoric era. This era comes before Ancient and gives you your cavemen. The mod was pretty poorly streamlined, though. Even fantastic computers can suffer from long waits between turns, especially in the later game.

Medieval 2:TW : Try Hyrule Total War, my other home on these forums. The main draw is the sandbox campaign, where you can lead Hyrule's iconic races to global domination(Gorons are still OP), but also be sure to check out UndyingNephalim's fantastic story mode, the Hyrule Historia.

Mount and Blade : The original M&B bears the awesome Star Wars:Conquest mod. Play as the Empire, Rebellion, or Hutt Cartel and vie for galactic domination! Besides the three factions, a variety of units exist, encompassing many of the iconic races. Wookies, Rodians, Mandalorians, Tusken Raiders, and even HK Series Droids are available for recruitment. The blaster rifles are varied and really well done, letting you play the game like a third person shooter reminiscent of the old Battlefront games. Of course, you can destroy the lore and play as a jedi of any race, cutting through the mobs of non descript stormtroopers. Jawa Sith Lords. I'm going to let that sink in for a second.

But seriously, check these out sometimes if you want to try something new.

Sounds like you're talking mostly strategy and RTS games, but I have to echo the BF1/BF2 games already mentioned. In fact I just played Forgotten Hope 2 last night, and will be playing it for the Thursday night pubby play on the WaW server as usual. It's a must for WWII history buffs (though much easier for Europeans to find full servers these days).

Yah i've been playing FH2 since 2009 and i'd say its my favorite game of all time. Dont mind the ping, even though since im a brazilian i get 260...
100 players at the same server every afternoon at my timezone and 100 player events every friday and saturday as well.
