Default The little town that wouldn't give up

So I took Fes from the Almorvorid and have held if for a few turns before they came with their 3 stacks to take it back. I have my Faction Leader in it, a GREAT leader, one of the best I've raised, 6 archer units, 1 unit of spearmen (27), 2 jav (10 and 20 relatively) and 2 worn down horse units.
They finally attack with their hordes from hell, bringing up 4 rams, 2 ladders and 2 siege towers so i sally out with my fine horsemen to cause general gorilla warfare, trying to take out their ways in, since there is no way in this world I'll stand a chance against them if they enter. After taking out their ladders and towers they always go back to them and try to push them forwards more. Eventually they get one of them to the walls and assult them. I put my men to work with melee (yeah...looooooots of melee archers) who eventually route them then put my archers, whats left of them, back on ranged. All the while, there mounted units do.....nothing cause they can't. After a long time they eventually try to get all their equipment back to their starting put. My forces are spent, their arrows having flown, waiting for inevitable death to assail them, but it doesn't come. The enemy along with their demon brothers at my rear (who never do anything thankfully, guess they really didn't want to be there) just sit there wondering wth just happened, how a bunch of archers repelled them. Literally, they just sit there. I fast forwarded to x6 and nothing. I sallied for with a few archer units to see if I could cox them into doing something. They did! They destroyed the units then went back to their starting positions. By this point my horsemen are long buried of course and my leader is normally dead. If they wanted they could go back to destroying the gates, climbing the walls, pretty much anything, but they don't.

I've fought this battle 3 or 4 times now and I REFUSE to give it up if they are too darn lazy to come in and take it. If they want to wait it out then don't bother attacking - just siege it. I worked too hard to get a foot hold in their territory and I'm not about to let it go that easy. If they don't come in and completely destroy me, taking it from my cold, dead hands, they'll not get it from me.

    THEY...SHALL NOT...PAAAAAASSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If there is a second army that isn't moving attack a unit from that army and the computer will remember it has the extra soldiers.

Well, I finally decided to just take out the towers and ladders, hoping to funnel them into the opening at the gate that they opened with the ram. After they opened the gate with the ram I hit them with some left over cav which made them release the ram right in the middle of the opening. I hoped that would slow the flood enough so I could hold it. Plus I took my archers (the ones that would listen to me anyway - other stupid ones stayed where they were - idiots) and had my jav guys throwing in but it was too much and I couldn't even rout them. While they were holding them at bay I took my king and high tailed it out of there hoping they wouldn't chase him and would just take the city square. They did just that and the battle ended with my king alive.....until the turn ended and they killed him anyway!

I will have my revenge! I will unleash a horde of assassins on them. I will bring down the full fury of my bad side. They got to see my nice guy side....it's on like DONKEY KONG!!!!
