This article is just one of the many that demonstrates the plight of the Rohingya people in Myanmar, and here we have this supposedly "human right icon"
and "heroine for democracy and human rights" and all the while she never even raised a beep or made a sound that mentions and let alone condemns
the suffering and depredations of this forgotten people who are being persecuted as we speak!! The so-called "beacon of light for democracy around the
world" is a racist and possibly an Islamophobe!

So what is this, inconvenient truth or just another example of hypocrisy and double standards of those who are suppose to be the "high moral ground
arbiters" and who "decide" who is "good" and who is "bad"??!!..

I have to give credit to Erdogan and Davutoglu who went to out of their way and raised an issue of Rohingya suffering at the international forums
and have criticized this so-called "human rights campaigner" who is nothing but a giant fake manufactured accordingly to serve purposes of third
parties!

You just said she has not raised the issue at all in your OP and your source claimed that as well when i just showed she has in fact addressed the violence against Muslims in Burma.

Do you realize how much she has to do? She is leading the opposition in a country that was a dictatorship for decades.

Well, Myanmar is ruled by a military junta that seized power after Suu Kyi's father, Burma's independence leader, was killed in suspicious circumstances. They rolled back a constitutional settlement that saw Burma as a constitutionally federal state and this Burmese dominated junta begun discriminating against Burma's minorities, such as the Karen and the Shan, which begun the longest civil war in human history. The Karen and the Shan states now have cease-fires, but the Muslim Rohingya did not enjoy such success, and the military Government is probably in the process of attempting ethnic cleansing right now.

The military Government is deeply unpopular with the Burmese people, but the Burmese people widely support discrimination against muslims, as do the country's priestly class. The monks of Burma are highly militant and pretty disgusting, and immensely powerful.

If Suu Kyi speaks out she'll lose a huge amount of domestic support. By not speaking out she damages her platform and international standing. The Government have calculated this well - but it's absurd to blame her for the situation.

And the point is?

She may have been late now that Burma seems to open up, but then again, before that, she spent her life as opposition in a dictatorship. She seems to seek compromise now and that to me seems like a healthy approach:

"I think the problem is due to the fear felt by both sides," she told the BBC's Mishal Husain.
"Muslims have been targeted but Buddhists have also been subjected to violence.
"This fear is what is leading to all this trouble."

All in all, I think the OP needs some more depth to make a real point. Opening it with a thread title calling someone "a great fake" however is, in most situations, a bad start in my eyes. It reveals an agenda.

I think it is understandable why Buddhists in Burma distrust Muslims so much, since:

1. A significant amount of Muslims are illegal immigrants.

2. Burma had been the ultimate frontier against Islam expansion into Buddhist SEA for centuries.

It's a fair issue to raise, and it's incredibly complicated, much more so as the OP's simplistic view that Suu Kyi's democratic, human rights ideologies are in fact purely fake.

Suu Kyi is not the leader of Myanmar or it's Government, which has just disenfranchised the rohingya. She is leader of an opposition movement and her power rests on as much as a genuine movement for democracy in Burma (if you go you'll see little League for Democracy shacks in every roadside village) but on the fact she is the daughter of Burma's independence fighter. Realistically, Suu Kyi cannot do a thing to stop the Government in it's current actions - electoral success aside she has nothing near a majority in the Parliament that military puppets still rule. And make no mistake - Myanmar's government is supported by thousands of soldiers, stationed right in the centre of cities such as Mandalay, ready to put down any challenge.

But why not say anything? Well, it would end her political career. A real political power in Myanmar are the monks, and the militants among them are very powerful. We probably all know that when the UN envoy protested publicly about the governments treatment of the rohingya a leading monk called her a whore and said if she loved Muslims so much why didn't she sleep with them? Seriously he said that.

It's hard for westerners - or perhaps anybody not southeast Asian - to understand these little witchdoctor's power. For a Buddhist burman these guys are the only thing that can look after your soul. Monks cannot work or accept payment so the local community provides for them, and this gives the locals boon - sort of Buddhist exp. the only reason the government allowed the recent elections was because the monks stopped accepting donations a cutting off the population from god - the government almost immediately backed down.

So that is what you need to know - the monks want to kill Muslims.

Also you have to be completely ignorant to describe myanmar's Muslims as illegal immigrants - the rakhine state existed for centuries, these people are an integral part of Myanmar.

Did you not read Vanoi's posts at all? Aung San Suu Kyi has already stated that Muslims are being killed and persecuted by Buddhists in Myanmar. The Noble Lord depicts this as having the strength of the buzzing of a fly, even though Ferrets points out that the monks are absolutely tarring Suu Kyi over this statement of hers regarding the Rohingya Muslims. Do you see the problem here, now? It isn't with Suu Kyi, who has at least acknowledged the violence, but with the more militant Buddhist monks who wield arguably far more indirect power in their society than Suu Kyi with her opposition movement. Of course, not all monks promote such violence, but a good deal of them do. For instance, Saydaw Wirathu.

Which hypocrites are you talking about? The issue here is Myanmar and its so-called "human rights heroine" and
not Pakistan! And by the way, if you meant to prove your point in a childish way by alluding on the nationality of
