Default How do you find out the speed of your DVD Drive?

Well M2TW installed all good after few minor problems. After took Disc 2 out after a finished install and put Disk 1 in to play it says cant find it, so got complete, full M2TW install but cant play. And it seems the DVD drive i have now 6 years old only sometimes it picks the disc up. So i was wondering how find out the speed of a DVD Drive? As it says it needs a 1200kb 8X DVD.Its the discs as it installed but it working perfectly on 10month old laptop

    Any help,

PC Wizard 06 gives you this information (and a hell of a lot more). Yet on my 4 year old dell machine my CD/DVD drive reads DVDs at 16x. I would be surpised if yours was lower than the required amount.

Can you take the DVD ROM out of the computer. Usually they will tell you on drive (if not on the front) the speed. Since it is 6 years old, I am thinking it is 4x maybe 8x.

Hm. Do you have vista or XP? It might be the same for both, but try right clicking My COmputer and going to properties. Then go to Hardware and then Device Manager. Then check under DVD/CD ROM drives, and it should tell you.
