Lugii core units. Where are they? Need some help here.

Hey guys. I started a new coop campaign with my friend. He took Suebi , and i took Lugii. At some point he has a core heavy units alrdy in 2 baracks (sword masters). I dont have any , only 6 limited Waranoi (or something like that) and some spears which are limited aswell. I managed to create one armry full of those elite units , how about units for 2nd etc? Tbh with out help of my friend my campaign might be very short ))) Is it supposed to be like this or ?

Your problem is that you have unavailable greyed out units even though you unlocked them with proper military buildings, if I understand you correctly?

I have 2 types of proper units atm, but they are limited by 6 units only each. Generals can not recruit more of them. I have baracks lvl 4 , temle etc for units buffs in that region. Iv noticed that lvl 3 baracks gives no new units , lvl 4 only siege weapons.

I think some of the better Lugii units are still heavily restricted by campaign unit caps. Maybe they shouldn't be, but then again, those are elite units. You're not meant to make a whole army of them. Of course, we'll probably get rid of the campaign caps if we incorporate the Populous mod.

You get most of the better units I think from the level 3 barracks, but maybe the Suebi get better units earlier - some elite Suebi units will likely get moved up to the level 3 barracks too.

You should not compare Suevi with Lugii in terms of units and unit acces. First of all they dont have the same roster and secondly (as mentioned by Augustusng) they should and will be balanced in terms of unit acces.

Just build lvl 4 baracks and there are no new units again. What should i do , spam pack of levy spears ? Something is wrong rly.....

Yes, levy units are indeed total crap, and that would be on purpose.

To answer the post after this, yes, spam mostly levy troops.

You don't need an entire stack of elite troops, 6 of your elite units, some light cavalry, the general, and the rest of levy spears.

Boom, with your 12 elite unit cap you now have two armies. Enough to carry you through 150-200 turns of play.

I'm not sure if it is still like this, but from what I remember, if you and your co-op partner play factions of the same culture, it messes up the reforms for one of you when the other reaches them. I believe it makes it so only the person who reached them initially can have access to the units, while you're stuck behind with the older units permanently. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I am currently in a Lugii campaign and after the reforms you get the upgraded form of the elite units you already have as an separate extra unit so you can recruit twice the elites. Also you can get hundaskapiz (?) which is a 150 heavy swordsmen unit with shieldwall, although I do not know if they have unit caps on them, and very light pike men become available (no fan of them due to their lightness and the weird feeling of Germanic pikes). Otherwise I would recommend to try to conquer Thrace as they have some good AOR infantry. I do have to stress though that the Lugii roster compared to almost every faction I have played up until now is the weakest roster. You have good bowmen (tier III carpenter line and AOR), weak infantry except the capped elites who are not that much stronger than for example your Celtic neighbours or the Suebi, and cavalry, which is good enough, which is only available quite late in the game (for me at least).
