It has been surmised, that perhaps, my lord had become like a wild animal that had been kept too long. Perhaps, but whatever... freedom... so long an unremembered dream, was his.
The children of Doom...Doom's children. They told my lord the way to the mountain of power. They told him to throw down his sword and return to the earth...HA!! time enough for the earth in the grave.

I heard some people say that the unit sizes are a tad bit smaller, but I dont have the game yet so I might be wrong.
Fat cats will rule the world.
The sizes are smaller yes.
But its for the better gameplay wise.
Playing on large settings and i think your average unit is 80 for swordsmen and 40 for cavarly.
I prefer it like this than the sometimes rediculous unit sizes in RTW that reduced tactics and promoted spam assualts.
I play on huge and if I recall correctly, bog standard infantry are 120.
Only dream I ever have. Is it the surface of the Sun?
Everytime I shut my eyes, it's always the same.
Is it true though that now we can have more than 20 units in an army? I heard that somewhere in the forrums and that it makes up for the smaller unit sizes.

The manual says 20 and gives no other conditions.Originally Posted by Roman-Warrior

Its still 20 slots for an army, on the huge setting, unit sizes vary mostly between 80, 120 and 150 depending on unit type.
RTW's standardOriginally Posted by jegui

So it's smaller than RTW. Though I can understand why they reduced the archery and cavalry units for balancing issues.
I would've preferred they stuck with 160 for standard infantry though. This means the battles are a much smaller than RTW but probably due to engine limitations.
Unit size is generally lower than RTW (by quite a bit). I've havent gotten RTW installed at the moment (gotten a new machine), but if i remember, the standard size for barbarian units etc was 240 with the huge setting.
I just hope the maximum number moddable is same or bigger then RTW...
They are smaller but it seems to work out OK. However the unit speeds and kill rates are too high.
