My first Crusade was on Milan!!! hahah

The story goes like this.

I was concentrating on Balkan and my eastern side of my Venetian Kingdom.
First those darn Milanese Sieged Venice! And at the same time they sent a Army to take over Bologna! (which they did).

Now I got really @#%$ off when they were playing cool on My Italy! on my Lands! So I decided to Attack them.

The battle was a great fun. But I was hoping that Venice would look more beautiful. I guess it still has to grow

After defending Venice, I decided to continue to Take Bologna so that Milan knows about the Venetian Power! (i used mercs as well )

And this is the most fun part. I got so mad at those backstabbing Fake italians so that for Fun I asked the pope for a crusade against them.(I had already planned to take Genoa, but I didnt know that Milan Was excommunicated).

So the first Crusade Arsen has made in the Strategi game Medieval 2 Total War, Is MILAN!!! Hahah, I think this is hilarious. What do u think?

I just started a crusade against Venice with the Sicilians. problem is, im not at Venice but half the units have desserted! How can i stop this? Every Crusade i attmept ends up getting totally desterted before it reaches its goal. Spain managed to march right across europe and take constantinople with a full crusader army, what am i doing wrong??

You have to head right for your target once you make your army a crusader one. If you stop or slow down, men start to leave.

Mine was called by the pope (by himself) on jerusalem owned by the egyptians.

My scots army boated it from Edinburgh and managed to take it after a freaking EPIC battle outside the city against a 2 stack egyptian force.

Now im trying to hold the area cos i couldnt maintain the crusade troops due to their high upkeep and me having only 1/2 of britain generating resources and fighting england at the same time.

MTW2 = god.

haha thats awesome, definetely more memorable imo, although i dont think anyones first crusade will be forgotten for a long, long time. man, the first time im actually checking the forums for about 4 hours a day, 7 on weekends, and i feel shafted at the euros getting the game first! i wouldnt mind if this was just any other game, but this is....TOTAL WAR.

Hehe had my first crusade was on toulouse
Marched from venice and had a 100% full army when i arrived, took over the city with about 60 casualties and got the reward, Too easy. Got ruined due to the upkeep costs though, so in the end its still better to keep the army on a smaller scale until cash flows in.

They do.

But when you take the target city/castle you get to keep the units and wham... youve now got 20 fairly expensive units taking up about 3000 florins per turn in upkeep.

It was darn Funny to play that battle. I totally owned those fake Milanese people. They thought they could stand a Chance against my VENICE!
Right now I have taken Bologna, Florence, Genoa, Zagreb, Smyrna, (western greek, dont remember the city), Souteast illyria(dont remember).

Im playing as Venice too and im having a hard time. I've played 60 turns so far, and im at war with Milan, HRE, Hungary, Byzantium and Egyptians and all factions actually hate me besides my allies the Polish (well the Turks are my allies too but they are gonna betray me somewhere in the future) .My first crusade was against the rebels in antioch, but after 20 turns the sitiuation spiralled out of control there so i abandoned it, and started helping my Polish allies conquering the Holy land (They control Jerusalem, Gaza and Damascus :wicked). I've had a great time so far with MTW2 and all runs flawlessly on my mid-end system with unit settings on huge and detail on high. Gj CA .

@ Thomonkey :My specs : Pentium 3.0 ghz, 1gb/512 mb of ram (my dxdiag fiile says 512, windows says 1024 ) ATI X800 VE 256 mb of ram. Its running it all fine like in the demo. The only thing that sucks is that i cant log on multiplayer because my cd-key is invalid... Wich it isnt.
