    :
Updated the HMS Victory section with some progress images, I've recently worked on the front section and have now got it to a base standard whereby I can just go back to it later and add more details. I'm starting on the ship's rigging which will be so much fun!!, the second image shows one of the sections that will be included in the rigging.

    Updated OP:

Added progress images V-0.2 for the Victory, started the basic implementation of the rigging and some other areas of detail such as the safety nets, and cannons on the main deck.

Are the images loading ok, I sometimes have trouble with the upload site I used?

Aha no they aren't, seeing as its a course project I wont be going into massive detail as the requirements are to display a use of specific techniques in the production of the model, which are use of NURBS, mesh edited objects and lofting. However I'll most likely continue building on it even after I've handed in the project and will most likely go into doing the interior and more general detail.

I've just finished adding the sails and completed the rigging. I have a few more stuff to do and then it should be finished very soon.

Like your stuff mate looks great!

I have two things of advice for you in the rendering department:

    1) You should render an Ambient Occlusion pass on your stuff, makes it look better and sexier.
    2) Also you should tweak the lighting and shadows. The shadows super crisp edge looks a bit flat and some of the shadows look pitch black.

That's really all I have for you, other than that keep chugging along!

Updated OP: HMS Victory - 0.3

Showing you the latest version, first picture showing the sails and rigging and what not, second showing the re-designed rear hull instead of the flat back i had before. And lastly some new details like cannons on the main deck, safety nets and ropes for the anchor etc etc.

I know the render quality is poor with the lighting and shadows but im not prepared to spend hours to render single frames with the type of render setting I have prepared.

Beautiful work Dictator! I wish I had the time to learn to create such work. One of these days I keep telling myself I'm going to take the time to learn modelling better, but I stay too busy. Anyway very impressive sir.

    Thanks man,

I've updated the OP with some render settings that I've used, more specifically with the use of Ambient Occlusion as "ThatOtherGuy" suggested. +rep.
