Kingdoms installation problem

Hey, i just got The gold edition of M2TW in the post today and when I tried to install it it says can not put 1.3 onto a 1.0 game and a few seconds later the update aborts. I had the disc version of M2TW installed but uninstalled it to try to reinstall from gold disc, but now I can't even install it from gold disc, when i click install it goes straight to the four kingdoms campaigns which I can not install. Please help a noob out

Hi, there! I'm not an expert, but I think you need to have 1.2v of M2TW first to patch up on 1.3v game.

I can't update the game though because I dont have it installed because i tried uninstalling and reinstalling it to see if that fixed the problem.My friend has the discs atm of the original copy so I cant install it from them and gold edition discs dont install the game.
