Civil War never happened in my game?

I played a huge roman campaign, I took over Britain, Gaul, Iberia, Carthage, Greece, Egypt, etc. I just won the game today, but through out my entire game I never got the Roman Civil war. Is this a glitch or perhaps I did something wrong? Does anyone know?

Are you sure that the script was running the entire time? If you start a game or reload a save (even if it is a quicksave that you just made), you will have to run the script again. Otherwise you get things like this.

It seems there must have been a weird glitch. I beat the entire campaign with about 135 regions, and then out of no where the civil war happens, thanks anyways for the help!

There should be the script running issue, as Greymane pointed.

In all my campaign the civil war occured when i reached 85 provinces with clocklike accuracy.

Develop a habit: when you start a saved game click on a settlement (i usually hit my capitol city), the advisor portrait will pop-up in the top left corner and click on it.
Keep an eye on your money: when you click on advisor portrait a denarius will be added to your treasury, that's the feed-back the script is loaded and works properly.
If don't, quit to the desktop and start again.

Otherwise your game will be corrupted and all your efforts, and implicite all the fun will gone.

Avoid quicksave, it's a well-known fact that quicksave is buggy and will result corrupted game, also.

dustyn' - are you playing v2.6 or v2.5?

As it was left, I believe v2.6 hard-coded the event to happen after 85 settlements. It was not changed 'back' (for there was lots of testing that involved forcing it) to the original code of v2.5 where there was a chance of the event happening after 85 settlements. The probability was set low enough that there was a reasonable possibility of the game being completed before it triggered. I rather liked that.

These days, mind you, I continue to have it disabled.

It always boils down to the script not running or it glitched on a turn cause it was not turn on...
