Default historical suggestions on ancient italic peoples

I know that already much has been done for rome and that there are several factions that are in dire need of work, but these are just some suggestions and i don't expect to see them realized. That being said let me say that i find the late republican and early empire roman period to be extremely boring, i always mod DEI in order to delay marian and imperial reforms, and so i find that camillian and polybian rosters could use a little love. I find that much could be done to better represent italian peoples other than the romans themselves. From such a thing other factions could get a benefit as well, we all know that many italian peoples actually fought for rome's worst enemies (Phyrrus, Hannibal etc.). Right now there seems to be a "reform obsession" with most roman players to just rush to at least the marian reforms as fast as they can.

    On to the suggestion now:
    1) In Dei the Veneti are treated just like another cisalpine gaul celtic tribe. Truth is that the veneti were not a celtic people and were the only one in northern italy to remain almost untouched by celtic influence. There are numeros clues that relate venetic language to the faliscan-latin group but there are other theories that relate them to the illyrians. Concerning their fighting style it seems that they were under strong illyrian and etruscan influence. Creating a new subculture and units would be too work much for a minor faction, but changing their culture and units to illyrian, while not perfect, could be a step in the right direction.

    2) Right now we have the samnites (hastati samnitici and principes samnitici, both early and late variants) as the only source of socii infantry units (there are only some other generic "italic" AOR units). Like the "legionarii capite censi" i think that here too we have a wrong naming case, as their description and appearance does imply that these units are made up of several italic peoples and not only the samnites. As far as cavarly goes we just have generic "socii" units. I think that creating several units from the main ethnic groups of central and southern italy would be a great thing. We could have units representing latins, samnites, bruttians, campanians and lucanians.

some links just fo eye candy:
in some images you can see the early oval oscan shield, wich is not represente in DeI

with 1.1, some italian units will find the way into DeI: the Taurisci, Bruttii and Lucani, all will be recruitable as AOR units in italy, or sicily region

Great news indeed! Thank you for all your hard work Ritter_Floh!
May i suggest some little aesthetic changes in the already exisiting samnite units? Namely the shorter tunics and horned helmets that you can see in this pic:
