Default Total War: Attila graphics. Kind of.. nervous.

So I am extremely excited for this game. However, I've been looking at several videos of the game, and while photos of Britannia on the campaign map have been beautiful, I cant help but feel like the graphics are not as good as in Rome II. I dont know why it wouldnt be, but it doesnt seem as high res, as high textured, detailed, etc. Can someone answer on this and maybe counterattack with beautiful screens?

Actually in my humble opinion overahaul graphics (and finally colors too) looks stunning expecially compared to Rome II...

The graphics looks a lot better than Rome 2's to me. Rome 2 looked like a cartoon. Attila looks at least somewhat realistic.

yeah they seem to have gotten a good balance with their colors, Rome 2 had some bizarrely bright color scheme that didn't really suit the game.

Disagree with all of you! But what I'm really wondering about are the textures and resolution of the map itself, which looks painfully low on Attila. If anyone could show me different, that would be great.

What? It looks like all the resolutions have been at least doubled.

So, while Terry won't allow the moveing of settlements and such, Terry WILL allow the modding of textures and resolution. Your problems will be able to be changed by mods.

I do disagree with you though. I think it looks great.

Optimastion/perf is what we should be worried about...

Irrelevant. It's CA who's getting paid to make a good game, not us.

Also; Stop talking about aesthetics. It has got absolutely nothing to do with what the OP was talking about.

Stick to the subject, please. Graphics, not art-direction.

    Oh, yes.

I noticed most of the videos that I saw on youtube were played at lower res/settings. Perhaps it's something to do with being footage from early preview build? Like the most recent one I saw, the UI clearly took almost half the screen and the jaggies were over the counter - most likely it wasn't even 720 res.

graphics is one of the least important aspects, as long as they don't look very bad they're good for me.

Guys, I dont mean the art direction, I simply mean the textures and resolution. Hopefully I've been watching people playing on lower settings, but then why would CA send people with crappy computers (or mid-range) the game, if they cant display the best the product can look? I wanna see how beautiful it CAN be!

I actually think it looks better, at least the textures. The terrain in some of the footage looks excellent. They could do with a bit of improving the atmosphere, though. Napoleon still stands as one of the best, if not the best, in that regard.

I think that Rome 2 and Attila are good alike. I think they have just made every thing darker in Attila to make the feeling of a darker age where instead Rome have seen the brighest moment in ancient history so the colors are made accordingly.
If you battle in gloomy atmosferic conditions you will se the colors being darker. I say they are the same quality just attila is darker.

Hmm, I think it's gorgeous, the previews appeared to be varying settings. It's not just the colors. Everything has a new atmosphere to it. I'm really impressed with the map, and this will be the first title I'll be able to play on max settings.

I don't think anyone asked what's "good enough for you". We asked how they compare to Rome 2.

My main concern is how there seems to be very little variation among the individual soldiers of a unit. "Clone Army"-style. When a group of Viking raiders more or less look like they're wearing standardized, identical "uniforms", something's horribly, horribly wrong.

    That's a sterile environment

It appears some animals still are able to find food, judging from their prescence in the picture though. On a serious note, a little odd so close to release. Was this from the twitch meltdown footage?
