    Default More then 2 player online campaign games!

    This has probably been endlessly asked for, but I just wish it would be possible for at least one TW game. There are so many factions for players to pick from, I just find it bizarre out of the ~100 factions, only a maximum of 2 can be human controlled.

    Have you played a multi-player match campaign?
    then you will see some factors which basically changes this things:
    1: the campaign objectives changes.
    2: the opposing player takes control of the enemies armies.

    this 2 items needs to be change so more then 2 players can play.
    1. can be change so the objectives isn't about taking the capital of the enemy player, but more so in a basic win condition of "control 10 province more then you started with" ( in this case I am OFC. ignoring Wre. and Ere.)
    2. let the AI take control, or make a currency, so if there are 4 players, and player A plays can chose which player controls his opponent, but fist fight he chooses player B so in next fight he can't chooses player B, and have to take player C or D.

    I have played TW online on Napoleon, Shogun, Rome I and II many times.

    Regarding players taking control of opposing armies, multiple players can just take over the opposition if they want too.

    Yess that is what I mean with point 2. but with multiple people they will make alliances, so they would choose to auto loss to improve the situation for a another player.

    Then that is how the game will pan out. I don't understand your logic. Everything has complications. In this instance the players themselves can resolve them. What are you saying is not argument in favour of the status quo, it is just a list of the potential problems.

    You can add my support for such a feature. Obviously, some changes would have to be made in order for it to work.

    a campaign coop of more than 2 people? lol... a 2 player system is already straining a system, hell I cant play for more than 20 turns before everything goes to hell.
    We just have to wait for Arena, that game seems to be the only shot TW has at a decent multiplayer experience.

    This is revolutionary new feature i'm waiting for. Been asking for it for around 3 years. It won't be easy to make but it is doable for sure. You might have to lock teams and have simultanous turns for each team(which would be awesome btw)This is no easy feat to make without sufficient focus on the MPC aspects of the game.

    However more and more people are playing MPC and the community is growing in skill and numbers, nobody knows or plays total war better then a multiplayer campaign player so that is where you want to be. Right now big Youtubers are a little afraid of being wrecked in MPC infront of their fans, but with every new game a new wave of people start playing it untill CA mess up.

    MPC was skyrocketing untill patch 7 hit, tournaments were planned and i had over 20 people playing constantly. Then Patch 7 broke MPC(Desync) When it was restored in patch 8-9 and eventually broken again at patch 11 most of the community died. However with Attila coming out soon Streams have been up Daily

    I cant even play a regular MP game, desync as soon as more than 2 units engage in a fight.

    I think you might be living of past experiences, desyncs are down to a minumum, in fact i have yet to see one in this patch. And i play a lot of MPC with a lot of different people. It varies from patch to patch, so keep that mind. Just becausae you had desyncs in patch 12 doesn't mean you will have it now.

    Played 3 games on December after my final exams and each game got a desync.

    Like wise just three days ago me and my friend tried to do a few battles (maybe 5) for his channel, every one got a desync no matter who hosted.

    I've also played with many different people, from across the world, and have had little issue on Rome II online. One feature I missed in comparison to Shogun 2 was being able to upgrade buildings, produce units etc during the other players turn.

    I really want more than 2 player multi-player. I used to play the hotseat multi-player in Medieval 2 with my brothers and it was fun, but it was disappointing that you couldn't fight the battles together.
    At least up to 4 people playing together with either locked alliances, or open >=D would be great imo.

    Desyncs still occur for people who got computers whois performence is lightyears away from each other.

    or for games that are badly optimized.
    My friend and I have very good computers but some games like Age of Mythology from a decade ago still desync.

    I just think you are full of it and you are making up stories about Desyncs, because you had a couple of desyncs on some previously broken patches. But if you are having desyncs today and it isn' due to performance difference, you sure have a very unique setup and i recommend sending your log to CA to study these strange and rare desyncs you are having.

    My logic is every one playing the multiplayer match will try to win, and cheat down the line, which is why I want a some kind of auto-rotation or random person to play (or even a auto-random rotation) against.

    there will always be problems, and there will always be the need to create some kind of house rules.

    And yes I am in farvour of more people in a multiplayer campaign, but it needs to be done right or people will get pissed of and not play at all.
    Which is why balance is needed, and I am not even sure how it can properly done correct :S

    Agreed. But if every player is trying to win individually, then that provides some balance to the game.

    Good to know. They can give the host a player limit cap, similar to Civ and other games, if people still just want a 1v1.

    I'm sure there's a way, but the best way to find out how is to allow more then two players to play an online campaign game. I'll happily test it to find all the potential areas of exploitation

    Yes but I fear alliances, were player A auto losses a NPC army to player B which will benefit their alliance.
    as a example:
    player B got a city garrison on 5 units, but a NPC faction have declared war on him, and attacked the city with a arm of 20 units, player A takes control of the army of the NPC, and losses intentionally so player B wins, as they both have agreed on it, so player B still can beat player C, without losing player B's cities.

    True but I would still love to have new objectivs not focusing on taking the capitals.
    Fun story:
    I played a campaign which turn into "rush for the capital" were both me and the opponent sat down counted how many turns it would take to reach each others capital, with our elite armies! (he lost, and we were both on a economical break point )

    Yes a open beta system would be lovely, and yes it should be there to kill of all exploitation!
    If a limit should be set, I would say 6 players, but again it is a matter of what the Win objectives are. (and ofc the stability of the campaign, so no desync happens)

    It could be fun could be fun if they added a some kind of prestige system (as in 3 spererated case's of win as in Civ5)
