Most likely the patch will cause you to restart a campaign. As for release, CA has never announced to my knowledge when a patch will be released, although for this game they have said a Day 1 patch will be out. So look for it soon I suspect.

Well no, you dont have to install the patch as soon as it comes out, assuming there is one out in the near future. Why not just play a campaign then install the patch when youve finished?

Yeah, I could do that, but my campaigns usually take time.. =) If the patch isn't released this weekend, I'll start the campaign. There can't be that much bugs, I quess.

Having played the game for 5+ hours last night, I don't see any noticeable/gamebreaking bugs. One such is that a Portuguese princess has been trying to marry my general for the past 15 years or so, and failing every time, and she just doesn't go away. Or at least I presume that's what she's doing because she always does the diplomacy/marry animation to the city he is in. It's not that bad, and the game plays very well.

It depends what they have fixed in the patch as to whether I will install it immediately.

I don't see any reason why we'd need to start a new campaign though. I mean, if the only major fix is in the AI code, that doesn't really change much. It's not like they're adding new units or something, then we'd need to restart for sure.

    WHAT?

So they directly lied, never had any plans and left us with a game they knew was buggy? I'm disgusted.

The patch I read from what a CA person said(can't remember where it said it)the patch makes the AI less passive and will be released on the day the game is out. So there seems to be some contradictory info here.

I would find it difficult to keep playing a given campaign, when I knew I could be playing with a more aggressive AI, at the same time I would not like to dump a campaign I had put alot of effort into.

The patch should be out when the game is out in australia, U.S, And Europe. So there might not be any patches until 17-18 of November

You capitalized the word capital, how ironic.

Thats not ironic, its a coincidental mistake.
Irony is a dramatical inconsistency between what is expected an what actually occurs. Example:

Someone being choked to death by a grape stuck in his throat while promoting the benefits of grapes.
