    Icon5 Invisible soldiers

Yesterday I started up Rome II and noticed that a mod updated in the launcher, however I was unable to see what mod it was because it downloaded so quickly. Also, in my Steam workshop none of my mods apparently updated yesterday, so I don't know what to make of that. What I do know is that since that happened almost every unit in the game now consists of invisible soldiers. I did a quick battle to test it, and for some reason one Roman unit was visible. Other than that, every soldier in a unit except for the captain and standard-bearer guys and generals are invisible. The few visible soldier look fine, no missing armor pieces or anything. However, as for the rest of them all that is visible is their weapons when they are holding them. In cavalry units, horses are visible but not riders. I've tried disabling a bunch of different mods that might have caused the problem but I can't figure it out. Could this be an issue with DeI? Can someone help? Thanks!

Invisible units in DeI usually means you either don't have all 4 parts activated or there is a mod conflict.

I saw one cheap javalinman without a legs. But his legs were only missing when you looked him through other units. Seems that there was some kinda LOS bug

If it is a mod conflict then it could be one mod which uses different variantmeshdefinitions than DeI. You get invisible units when there are incorrect or missing variantmeshdefinitions, f.e. because the variantmodels to which the definitions correlate are not in the relevant places or some lines in the variantmeshdefinitions for the skins are incorrect. For example in my modded no-Sparta Spartan campaign where I changed all Spartan units to fantasy faction units I had my Spartan officers mostly without weapons and shields and I didn't know why till I saw by coincidence that I forgot one line with the word "slot" in the variantmeshdefinition. Every time when I had invisible units it was because I made mistakes in the variantmeshdefinitions or there were no variantmodels for it. If you don't see body parts from the distance then there are probably missing imposter models, like still in one DeI Celto-Germanic unit with missing legs.

    I use DeI WIP fix + 0,96 Roman/Hellenic units
