Default Total War Chronicles - new feature announced

New feature announced by CA focusing around keeping a record / timeline of a campaign that you can share with others.

This looks fantastic, brilliant for anyone that's even remotely interested in AAR's . I like the possible uses for this, in each total war game I always have "that" special campaign which I always remember, now I can do that in more detail. I have to say after the lack of immersion in Rome 2 this along with the family tree and general attachment is a very -very- welcome change.

Is this like how at the end of EUIV you got a story of the leaders and wars experienced by your faction?

I haven't played EUIV, although it sounds similar to what you are saying. I suppose a good example would be an interactive historical timeline which when you press play comes up with all of the events that have happened plotting it on the campaign map.

Mmmm very very good feature, but you have to fix the immersion a bit more.

If you weigh up the good against the bad this still looks like the most in depth totalwar campaign release we have ever had to date.

This is a very good feature. It has dual functionality as a strategy guide or walkthrough for a particular faction. I love how the events are pinpointed along with date and place on the map!

Can't watch the video yet, can anyone tell me if you can view it after campaign finish?

For anyone that might be angry and think this is time wasted that could be spent on the game itself:

"Chronicles had zero impact on Total War: Attila, or any other game's development time. It uses an existing internal save game analysis tool as a basis and was developed by a web team external to our game development team. If you don't like it, don't use it!"

This reminds of me of the summary screen at the end of a game of Civilizations. It'd be cool of it also saved replays of critical battles.

Yeah those "Rebels" back in Rome 1 were so interesting. What was their deal? How did they come to own half the known world before you start the game and why did they always disappear so quickly?

They represented the minor factions that could not be put into the game due to the faction limit. That's why most of them got their own names, like "Illyrian rebels".

Cool. I hope the in game version gets renamed to "Chronicle" or something and presents the information in a narrative way instead of just a long data feed.

I like the idea of uploading our chronicles on Steam and let our friends/others players see what we've done. The interactive map seems to be quite good.

This seems like it will be a huge boost to AAR's and play through's.
