Just got my copy.

Just got my copy this morning from Play.com,and after a slightly nervous wait while it installed(rome for what ever reason was a right pain to install),i have played 40 turns or so.
First of the bat,the game looks great,and i have played a number of various custom battles to test different units out etc,and damn sieges on fortress levels are great,lots of things to do.
Sadly the game has crashed a few times,but im hoping i have found out the problem for that,and with a bit of luck thats now sorted.It does though for me at least run far better then the demo,which really had me worried,as it was very choppy at times on the first demo mainly.
My first campaign is with england,and im doing ok,taking a few rebel areas,and building my economy up,to get better units and a better base to take on the french,who recently have camped 2 largish armys by caen,which is a bit worrying.
But alkso ive really noticed just how better the battle AI seems to be,at least ov VH setting.
I was in a siege for a rebel town,and was using 2 units of spearmen to scale the wooden walls with ladders,and a ram and tower to attack other areas of the city,i had a few archer units to keep the enemys heads down,and my 3 heavy cav units and a few other spear units to rush in once i had success.
In rome i could win a siege with ease,the AI was for the most part very poor and static,and was easy to use its disadvantages to your own.But then in this siege it ddi something which made me very happy.It used the archer units on the walls to pepper my own archers,and soon wiped them out,it took out my tower,and then suddenly opened the gate,and sent out 3 inf units to attack my ram,which quickly collapsed.
But then it quickly sent all 3 inf units to attack my guys going uo the ladders,and get this,once the gate was closed,and before i could react quickly enough,it sent these 3 units up the ladders themselves to get back in,after inflicting a lot of losses on my inf.
Now i may be unlucky here,or it was a just a random chance,but it sure looked clever,and i was to slow,so used to winning sieges in rome.Ive resieged it again,and again ran out of men,so it looks like the AI is far stronger,which is obviously great for all.

Sorry but where do you live and when was it dispatched because i ordered from Play and still nothing im starting to get a little bit fraustrated.

I got my copy when i woke up in the post , what a good way to start friday eh? But i had school.......****. But im finally gonna get to play it cause im installing now WOOHOO!

Damned, you guys are lucky. Anyway, thanks for that info. It seems out hope wasnt wasted so far. Im looking forward for this game to be installed in my comp too.

If you pre-order from play.com they dont use first class, so it will probably come tuesday or wednesday. Maybe saturday i dont know! I'd only buy from play when im not in a hurry to play it, and always order monday morning so it comes wednesday.

I might get it later today at pc world.

Sorry i did not mean to say there was a problem with the install,just i had probs before with other games,and obviously wanted this one to go ok,which it did.By the way i ordered my copy on tues night,so thats pretty good going.But sadly the crashes are not so great,can play for a hour or so,then CTD,but not gonna panic yet,and it runs far better for me in battle then the demo,which is nice.
