    Default Play preferences

Just got the game but really want to turn off unit banners and disable cut scenes etc, like you could do with the preferences script in RTW

Is it in M2TW if so where?

    Anyone help

    Thanks

Yup, open medieval2.preference.cfg with notepad, the lines you need to change are the same as in RTw i think.

Go to the preferences file in your installation and open it with a text editor and search for the word banner you'll find the line you need, then change the number from 1 to 0..same with all the rest.

    many thanks guys.

I had opened this file when I first installed the game but it was empty.

Maybe you have to start the game first before it generates.

    Anyway working now

    Many thanks

Yea thats right you have to start the game..and heres a tip, if you ever want to restore your file exactly as before..delete the preferences file and start the game again..all goes back to normal and the file is restored.

If you remove arrow markers is there any way to distinguish what unit is selected? Since the selected units dont glow anymore.

Yes... the unit flags/banners will swivel up and down and the unit soldiers will be sort of highlighted...

    Default Too many banners

I tried everythin, in vain, to remove the banners from the game. there seems that the Preference file is not included like in RTW. In RTW i used to change many parameters in the pref such as grass distance, banners of...
PLease tell me how to remove those totally
(shame though, that there are no flag barrers at all in the game !?!?)

look in medieval2.preference.cfg file, open it with notepad. Its basically the same as the RTw preference.txt.

And good luck identifying your units without banners or the green arrow markers.

oh dear. yes, with 99.99% certainty you will have notepad as it is a standard program installed with windows. just right click the file, select "open with" and notepad should be in the menu
