Default Passive campaign AI - turn 89 and most factions left.

In my macedon campaign the AI is pretty passive. Most of the factions are left at turn 89, even though a lot of the factions are at war nothing really happens. I am using the faster battles submod and that is it.

They just sit there with their armies..

    Any thoughts?

    Very strange.
Normally they stay passive for the first few turns (5-10 max), but by turn 50-100 you should have a lot of destroyed factions.

If you're simply using faster battles submod, its increasingly strange! I was about to tell you to check your /data folder.
If its not that then I can only tell you to start a new campaign or wait for a tip from another poster.

In total I use: NO PO garrison negative, faster battle 2.0, DEI Faction + Unit Names restored (english) and Fix for Graphic Lag. All install via Steam.

    Thoughts?

The only thing which is currently a bit boring in my camp is that the AI doens't want to fight me. I am at imperium lvl 6 and at least three other factions are also very strong. Still they don't want to deal with me ^^

Rack in the cash, declare on the strongest country, that usually sets things off.

Whit DeI you believe everyone is your friend sometimes, I did as Armenia and found my self in a series of wars with Pontos and all our former friends that remained friends with her not me.
the war lasted half a century, things arent as stabble as they appear mostly

I really wish my campaigns were that quiet by turn 90...
    lol

having some defensive/full allies : with me following honorably my commitments, brings a maze of aggression that while entertaining is unpredictable and stressing at times...

At about turn 150 now in my Massilia campaign. Carthage conquered all of Italy (Rome is not dead though, but I have no idea where they are since Greece and beyond is all fog of war to me.). Suebie have conquered all of Germany and possible more, and the african kingdom faction has conquered moot of Africa and quite a bit of Spain.

    Definitely a lot of action!

This is also the first time it has happened for me with DEI. But this is my first campaign with 1.0.. Galartaria has been at war with four factions at the same time for 50 turns and nothing happens there. They just sit there.
Is the 'mood' of the different factions suppose to be different? Like defensive for egypt and such? But the thing I don't get is that the factions don't invade each other when at war. Not enough that is. I think 5 factions in total are gone at turn 89.

Don't feel like starting a new campaign if it will end up like that

On a side note Carthage killed of Rome fairly quickly

What faction did you play, what settings, what difficulty, what was your strategy (playing Athens for example getting alliances and big friends with everyone can hold the nearby world mostly at peace, for example).

Whatever it was, this has never happened to me in 1.0

Currently I'm having my best cmapaign ever in Rome II. I play as Massilia on VH/VH, battle realism on. This is really a total war. I actually changed time for a couple of my buisness meetings because of this campaign. DEI to blame!!

That sounds sweet dude! Are you using any submods? I've tried VH battle difficulty but I never liked my treasured superior units getting trounced by weaker ones. How is it for you?

Thanks, man! I don't use any mods except of graphical ones. I tried mesters's mod, but it just changes some killing animations and formations for barbarians.

I really don't wanna sound like badass, but anything less than VH is easy for me, I don't have any "house rules", I'm gonna flank enemy, so difficulty does not mean much, they still gonna break pretty fast if you do this right. To be honest, for me it feels that VH is really well balanced, when you also want to have a little bit more of a challenge, and I mean a little more.

I did not try Kam's new battle submod, but I know it's right direction to go. I go as far and will say the bigger unit sizes you use it's easier to play, because you have more time to recover if you make mistakes.
In this campaign AI was very agressive towards me at the start, but they could not beat me inside of walled city of Massilia, so I sat there and made all the developments I could and same time I was spending money in diplomacy section to make assure bigger factions would not go for me. I honestly licked : ( Romans ass by joining the war they had far from my borders just to make better relations with them. Finally I managed to have 2 armies and started to move on Volcaes and then against Arverni together with Cantabari. We were in very good realtions as they also had war with them. Iceni managed to build really big empire and were fighting me and Boii with WITTS and SMARTS I have never seen before in Rome II. Dude, for a moment I started to have all the respect which is possible to have towards AI, it counter attcacked me, it liberated factions around me and they were having war with me as well, it prevented me to make sea invasion on their islands by smart reading of my moves, it was raiding my lands and hiring all available mercs and attacking again, o, world, you had to see all this heroic battles. I had so many battles inside of unwalled cities that some of my garrison archers had two silver chevrons.

One of the real problems with VH is Iceni uinits like Pritanoi Ambactoi were basically immortal, they only way to break them in battle were flanking by archers and shooting in their backs and trust me, it took almost all ammo to break one of those units, so hard.

    Finally, with help of Boii we finished Iceni on a continenet and now I got all the islands. Bigger wars are about to begin, but here comes the sad part, once I established good economy - 10000 k. per turn, the game is over, I'm only gonna win, this is worst part of a game ) ;

This is how my map looks like now, I have no war with anyone and ready roll.

    * Ptolemaioi conqured all the Cartchage and then liberated it to fight Lustiani and now Carthage in war with both of them.
    * Athenai are hust huge, they have half of a map
