Default 7600 GT gone for my alienware

After realizing that my system needed a new GPU, I decided to purchase a 7600 GT AGP. However before I had the money ready it had gone out of stock. Can someone give me a link to another card thats equal to the 76 gt or better. Salahedin are there anyother websites that sell the card, I couldent find any. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...1181&CatId=935 found this one but I dont know if its as good as the other?

I think that's too expensive, considering that 7600GT performs almost the same and costs less. Won't the store order more cards or are you in a hurry? Meh, there must be some place that has them..
Alienware.. May I ask, what is your former gpu? =)

The GPU it came with and that I still use now, is a GeForce 6800 Ultra. Which although old I guess, will still run both Pavia, and Agincourt from the demo (very smoothly) with everything set to high, shadows off, AAx2 ASx4.
This is good, but once I experimented with the custom battle mods, and the number of troops got above 2000(does this mean its my processor that need upgrading since its a unit number issue) it tended to lag, usually averaging at 17 to 19 fps during the fight. :hmmm:
    Oh ya I play at 1024 x 960.

OH hey I found the card here...http://www.amazon.com/Geforce-7600GT...&s=electronics Is this the right one for AGP????

I'm not sure if 7600 GT is any better than 6800 ultra... What would you have to pay for it?
And what's your cpu, that may cause lag with many men on the field (Or it certainly causes lag)
And yeah, that one is for AGP.

My cpu is an AMD Athlon 3500+ running at 2.2 GHZ. Is that too slow?

You got me whole wrong.. I'm just saying: The more men, the more pressure on the cpu. it will lag at some point. (Not saying that 3500+ is bad in any way. And you may have noticed, that I asked what is his cpu, cause I didn't know that :p)
I'm pretty confident that 7600GT is pretty equal to 6800 Ultra. :hmmm: See this: http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/h...ce_7600_gs/19/
    Should give you some clue.

3500+ is enough, 6800 Ultra is enough, so it should work very, very well. Demo wasn't designed for custom battles, so the full version works better. Notice that I'm running the full version on high settings with my pc, which is worse than yours. So don't you worry.

It's not like you have anything to lose by trying the game with your system, it should run ok but if it doesn't and you DO need a new GPU, you can always get one later.
As long as you have a decent CPU, which you do, you should be alright playing M2:TW (maybe not with all the eye-candy turned on).

Also, remember that I advised you to buy the XFX 7600GT XXX edition, trust me when I say it performs considerably better than the regular 7600GT . They are really hard to find nowadays though.

(I'm not saying that the regular edition is bad, it's what I have and I like it very much...)

The only thing the XXX edition has is higher clock speed. If you really want that extra 1-2 fps boost, you can always overclock it your self.

I suggest you get the X850XT, it performs much better than the 7600GT, and cost considerably less too.

Well, from the European sites I have seen, the X850XT still costs up to £100 more than the 7600GT!

oh, just stay with your 6800ultra. It's an awesome graphics card. You should just wait out the year and get dx10 or something much better than blowing $280 for something that doesnt really perforom that much better.
