What's Your Favourite Unit In CI?

Personally I'm a huge fan of the Guards of the Citadel. A line of Guards in thangail (shieldwall) is just an awe-inspiring sight, and with my second most favourite unit, the Rangers of Ithilien, behind showering the enemy with arrows, I'm ready to take on the peoples of Middle-earth!

The Guards of the citadel must also be my favorite unit, but I also find the Rhûn Darkhelms (?) to be aweinspiring. The Umbar guard is also a neat little unit

If we would say units I would easily go for the good Gondorian Men-at-Arms, Guards of the Citadel and King's Longbow men mix. Never has a battle-line looked so good!

I'd either say the Men-at-Arms of Dol Amroth or Rangers of Ithilien, but when combined with King's Spearmen, these three units are unstoppable.

The King's Spearmen. Back in the days with the old beta before the diplomacy was crappier Rhun attacked you several times in Mordor, I had a few units of Spearmen (as well as some militia) which I put "on top of each other" in a shieldwall, and they stopped everyone of them! Now though, only Harad attacks me, and not as frequently

White company and the rangers of ithilien, i made a special army of 5 ithilien rangers and 1 white company, in the defense of ithilien. A true LOTR fans, not? :wink:

The Knights of Dol Amroth... they are so freakin fast (faster than light cavalry?), and the only time I lost a substantial number is when they waded into a river. Their charge sends people FLYING (obviously not Mumakil style, but still).

Who do I HATE? Mumakil. I thought I was genius, they were inside, defending the city, I shot fire arrows and made them run amok... "great, they'll trample their own army!" I said. Well, they left the city, and 'coincidentally' ran amok all over my army... half of my losses in the campaign had to be from poorly aimed catapults and amok Mumakil.

I really like Guards of the Citadel, but I also have to have a grudgin respect for Rhun Great Axes. Those little beggars were all that stopped my conquest of eastern Mordor (before the loyalist rebellions). I was doing so well - 700-800 gondorians (mostly militia) versus nearly 2000 Rhunish (mostly Wains and settlers). I was kicking ass all over the place until the Great Axes turned up...

Ah well...

The Rhun berserkers. The guys look absolutely awesome, though the darkhelms are great, too. But when the berserkers let loose, there´s hell to pay. I just love watching them hack their way through the neat lines of Gondorians, using nothing but brute force.
