Return of the Orange Filter

BLUF I want the orange filter gone

Before anyone says so. GEM is not really needed

I've been playing Vanilla after Emperor's Edition for the longest time now. I was caught in the .9 era of DEI and decided to wait it out till 1.0 came out. Just now getting back into DEI and I noticed the damn orange filter is back! It's utterly removed in EE and everything looks pleasant. Playing it with DEI is rather, irksome.

GEM does a lot of other things and messes with my game performance wise. I don't see the point in getting it when EE simply removed the filter and all was well. So is there a way to removed the filter, either by a simple mod, or editing a text file or something?

really? The only bit of orange I've seen is when fighting in the Mediterranean.

Was the battle taking place when the sun was low in the sky?

Sometimes during evening battles the battlefield has a bit of an orange hue, but otherwise I've not seen such a thing myself.
