Where is my fort?

Hi. I just had a battle and i was fortificated. IA attacked me and when i enter the battlefield i was in open ground.
This is a bug or is intended? I kept all the bonuses from fortificated stance but with out no fort.

Some times this seems to happen also in vanilla as I read in threads. Often only the fort gave me a chance to survive battles in my current DeI campaign. I always had when I needed it but one time where I had a situation similar to you. I don't know why. I'm not sure but I think it was my only battle near the sea where the enemy had land units and landing units from ships. So in my fantasy it was related to this. What was your battle situation?

No they aren't. A unit of archers is enough to set an entire fort alight.

There are no forts in certain situations.

As far as i know this include:

1. Battles on/near a bridge.

2. Land battles with sea support.

Besides that I encountered the problem described above as well. Especially directly after release. Sad to hear it is (maybe) still a thing.

I have mentioned in other threads: If you build a fort beside a river you get a river scene with unusable deployables, I asked for a fix regarding this for 6 months on the "other site" before one of the brown shirts there bid me farewell.
