CA Developer Icon Mod Summit 2015- Assembly Kit for Total War: ATTILA

The Mod Summit is in full swing and the modders and devs are busy discussing new tools and community events for Total War: ATTILA.

Some exciting news for you modding enthusiasts is that a new Assembly Kit for Total War: ATTILA will be out a couple of months after launch!

Along with all the tools that were available with ROME II, there will also be some map modding capabilities with new TED and TERRY tools, and raw terrain data. You can check out some of the new features on the wiki below:
    http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/ATTILA_Assembly_Kit

Today’s attendees will go hands on with an early version of these this afternoon, taking the chance for some Q&A with the ATTILA team while they are at it.

At last year’s Summit we saw the birth of the Mod Awards and we hope to achieve some new exciting ways to involve our modding community and thank them for their hard work.

For a more detailed look at our Mod Summit itinerary and announcements keep an eye on the forums for the attendees’ posts and write ups.

    Good news woo!!

Anything on making the models_naval table moddable to enable new ship models?

    EDIT:
....oh its only battle map editing and campaign map aesthetics

However, does not enable editing of:
    • Settlement positioning.
    • Tree positioning.
    • Border positioning.
    • Campaign logic (pathfinding and collision).

I guess its understandable though considering AI pathfinding tools would be needed to allow border and settlement positioning to be moddable.

Wait, does that mean those ugly cliffs can be modded out. That would be something at least.
Remember, remember, the third of september, the Rome II treason and plot. I know of no reason why pre-order treason should ever be forgot.

Map making tools. That will make a lot of people happy. Including me.
Can be used for Custom Battles, Multiplayer Custom battles, Historical battles or replacing of currently placed battle map locations within the campaign map.
Can't wait to knock me up me very own Viking (forefathers) fortress. Thanks Joey. Now, about Warhammer.......

The bosses are still scared of mods being bad for the DLC business, huh.

But more tools is always than welcome and I appreciate by advance what modders will do with those.

A question: why announce the kit features before the mod summit? One of the main purpose of the mod summit is to ask for tools, not how to use the tools that are delivered. I hope the kit is not final and that it will gain in weight and importance...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    => Campaign map tools.

My opinion CA has already decided what to release to the public long ago. Terry and TED clearly take some time to create as tools. I dont know what the mod summit is for if they already decided what to give us. The modders will prob get a run through with the tools. Are they planning on releasing footage of this?

Joey said that the modders are discussing new tools with the devs? Really?

Then they would have locked unit pack creation, wouldn't they?

That is exactly what i was about to post now!!
That proves that this summit is a big joke (to avoid post more agressive terms) and all its happening there is a feast on the suckers (us all)!!!!
IF any one of the so called "modders" will post that CA created a modding tool he/she will have us all for fools!
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

    True true so true.

We know why CA dont let us edit settlements, simply because of DLC policy. They thought that if modders make their own maps with new provinces on it no-one will buy their map oriented DLC packs or it will lower its sales.

This is positive. I like the capability allowing replacement or editing of the battle map tiles for the campaign map. This should lead to more interesting campaign mods. The burning question is why no Ted or Terry for TWR2?

The possibilities are endless, well not endless but a lot vaster.
Any time period until guns that is set in Europe will now be able to be made. The settlement modding in particular is great
as it is easier then ever before and with more possibilities, the settlements were a great issue for Rome II mods limiting the timeframe of possible mod. I am very sure Attila will have more of the greatest Tw3/war scape mods than any tw3 title
    before.

guys we can't add cities to the campaign map with the CA tools
but remember we don't need a tool for that, for shogun 2 we only needed the files
now my questiont is, are these files included ?

anyway if the above question is a yes then a huge thank you to CA gonna preorder the game if so

From what I read you can't add new settlement or rearrange border (meaning a totally new map is out of the question). What you can do is create new custom settlements (like Shogun 2) but unlike Shogun 2, the custom settlements can be use to replace the vanilla settlements in campaigns.

umm, correct me if i am wrong , but i seriously seem to remember a mod that adds Custom settlement battlemaps to vanilla settlements,
as well as several mods now adding settlements to the battlemap itself , not just the Imjin war mod, but on Japan itself.

Also , am i right in my suspicion that no new tools or modding support will be given for rome2 ?

CA doesn't care about the first 10 reactions
they do care about the long term ones

yes they didn't release a tool to create new settlements
but they did release alot of files, and some of them may be what we need to mod it properly
remember that in shogun 2 we have maps with korea
i believe it was something related to 3d max (wich seems to be included)
anyway the modders will tell it in time
