    Icon4 Wrong names of factions?

I see weird names on campaign map and videos.

There are many factions, so I don't write about all. I am giving few examples.

    1. Suebians ???

I know this faction as Suebi or Suevi - use in Italian, Latina and English, Sueben - German, Swebowie - Polish.

I don't understand why there is a mistake probably, because in Rome II this faction name was correctly - Suebi.

    2. Anteans ???

I know this faction as Antes or Antae - use in Latina and English, Anten - use in German, Anti - use in Italian, Antowie - use in Polish.

    3. Sclavenians ???

I know only Sclaveni - use in Latina, English Sklavinien - use in German, Sklaviniai - use in Greek, Sklawinowie, Sklawini, Sklaweni, Sklawenowie - use in Polish.

There are only examples. The same you can find with Markomans, Roxolanians and many others...

    What's an idea of CA?

What's wrong with calling people from Rome Romans?

Seems like CA this time went with refering to the non kingdoms/empires as the peoples who make up the tribe rather than the tribe itself. As a result we get (the) Suebians and not Suebi as a faction. IMO it would be better if they just called the faction after the state's/tribe's name instead of the variation we have now.

    ...

That's how romans and even the tribesmen referred to themselves they didn't have a kingdom name like Kartli or Axum, the only difference from Rome II's tribal faction names is that they're in english instead of latin.

let me give u an example which is easily related to Sclavenians

    Slovenia - country

Slovenes, Slovenians, Sloveni all correct but the last one - well even last one is correct but its considered archaic now, same is for Anti, Antes, Antae, Anteans - this one is probably made up in same fasion as Sloveni(ans)

I admit this does feel a little nit-pickish. There are far bigger concerns to be worried about in TW Attila.

The inventors of the famous Antipasti, still popular today.

    In Latin:

    Sclaveni, Antes, Marcomanni, Suebi

I know a few in Migration Germanic as well, e.g. Suebi would be Suabiske

For once this is an inaccuracy I can live with.

Very minor thing in the long run, this can and will easily be modded if it's wrong.

I agree with others, this isn't the biggest deal. For me it is more important to get the proper factions in their historical locations, or as close as possible for gameplay sakes.

I think it's interesting that they are referred to as the people "Suebians" instead of as a collective tribe "Suebi". The ancient Greeks rarely spoke of "Athens" or "Sparta" but instead they would speak of "Athenians" and "Spartans" - in Greece at least, the idea was that the people rather than the land from which they originated was more important as a political concept*.

Still , I find it odd that there's a "Suebians" faction and a "Britain" faction. Why not have a "Britons" faction instead?

    * According to Greek and Roman Political Ideas (M. Lane, 2014 Pelican Publishing).

Actually the faction isn't named Britain its named Briton.

Also why is the Alamanni named the Alamans and the Marcomanni are named Markomans?
