Hailing from the Terrestrial planet of Castor, the Au’lairs are a powerful noble House in the Empire who rule one of the strongest Duchies in the Empire, relying upon the industrial might of their beloved homeworld in order to wield a large aura influence throughout the Empire’s many systems. The Au’lairs are a part of the magnate faction of lords of the Empire who value and use the power of their industrial and manufacturing arsenals to great effect to achieve many great things, some of which have resulted in many good things for mankind and some others that have caused humanity great pain and anguish and nearly, the Empire of the Known Universe’s dissolution. For you see, the Au’lairs were once one of leading participants in the centuries of chaos that led to the rise of the Feudal system in the Empire that we know today. Not only were the Au’lairs one of the original creators of the mighty weapons that were known as the Titans, with their own infamous warship being called the Imperial Dragon, they were also instigators or at the very least major participants in many of the great wars of the Divided Emprise Era, the Tetrarchy Era, and the Era of Great Transition culminating in the First Lord’s Rebellion in which the forces of House Au’lair along with other rebellious Houses forced the Emperor Ismail IV to sign the Treaty of Kepler. From that point onwards, the Au’lairs quieted down somewhat, biding their time and continuing to build up their industries, waiting for an opportune moment to strike.

The Planet System of Castor
The planet of Castor is a lovely terrestrial world made of one gigantic continent, Sola'salin, that is covered in many great flat plains, verdant hills and valleys, high mountains, and many, many rivers that cover the continent from the North to the South, from the East to the West, with a climate that closely resembles that of the human homeworld of Holy Terra. It was not a surprise then that Castor grew to be an important planet for mankind, slowing growing over the centuries if not millennial into a bustling planet now home to tens of billions of people with large, towering cities dotting all over the planet. In between those large cities, huge industrial complexes slowly rose up under the command of Castor's ruler's the Au'lair family, turning the planet into a great factory world producing anything and everything a human being could ever want, while still managing to keep the greenery and beauty of Castor alive. Large swats of land were devoted to keeping the planet healthy and green, while others were devoted solely to enrue that Castor's industries and people were kept well supplied. Vast farmlands dot the most fertile lands along Castor's equator while great forests lie between the equator and the two poles with two trees being planted for every one that was cut down. This allowed Castor become a perfect planet for profitable industry and happy living.
The chief city of Castor and it's capital, Nimbus city is where the ruling family of Castor reside, in their massive palace and fortress called the Crimson Citadel. From here, the ruling Au'lairs hold court over Castor and it's here where their vast wealth and power is put on display. Great twisting towers dot the palace's crimson brick walls which conceal behind them powerful bunkers and blast walls to ensure the safety of those within. From witihn these walls. the Au'lairs get to enjoy a leisurely rest in between their tiring careers in the industrial and military fields.
Duke Alexei Au’lair
Age: 73 (Born 927 IC)
Traits: +4 Administrator (+1 from Magnate), +4 Trade, +2 Admiral, +2 Counterspy, +3 Spymaster
Bio: Duke Alexei Au’lair is the patriarch of House Au’lair and the ruler of the Castor System and its Duchy. He is intelligent and calculating man who is always planning and scheming to extend the reach of his family, whether it be economically, militarily, or politically. To the outside world, Alexei is known to be a shrewd industrialist who knows how to manipulate the market prices on any type of good in order for it to always favor him in the end. In private, the Duke is an even more cunning man, using both the legal and illegal worlds to further his own ends. He is no saint but nor is he the devil. He is merely a man who knows how to manipulate the Lords of the Empire to do his bidding so that he may reach his ultimate goal, of seeing the restoration of the Au’lairian Empire that reigned before the coming of the Uniter. Although he is primarily a man of business, the Duke does have some skill in commanding a warfleet into the battle. He is a competent Admiral who can best any but the greatest of pirate lords and he would prove to be a challenge to the Empire’s best Admirals with more massive carrier fleet.
Aurelius Au’lair, Heir to Castor
Age: 50 (Born 950 IC)
Traits: +4 Admiral, +2 General, +2 Charisma, +2 Administrator (1 from Magnate), +1 Academic
Bio: Aurelius Au’lair is the heir to the Castor System and the supreme commander of the Castorian Military. Although he has followed in his father’s footsteps in becoming a capable businessmen, his true talents lie on the battlefield. He is known to be one of the Empire’s best Admirals and his skills in waging a planetary fight are not too shabby either. All in all, the heir to Castor and House Au’lair is not a full to be messed with lightly unless of course, you want to meet a gruesome end. Now besides his military skills, the Au’lairian heir is something of an orator and he easily charm the minds of the weak and pliable and even some of the more resolute of mind. A useful if situational skill, being a persuade others is nonetheless a useful skill to have ,especially if he wants to fulfill his father’s ambitions.
Tiberius Au’lair
Age: 45
Traits: +2 General, +2 Duelist, +2 Charisma, +1 Administrator (1 from Magnate), +2 Academic
Bio: Tiberius Au’lair is the second son of Duke Alexiei and he is currently the commanding General of House Au’lair’s land forces, serving as his elder brother’s right hand man. He is what many would call, the typical noblemen: Charismatic, educated, with just a touch of arrogance and chivalry. He is a competent swordsmen and this directly carried over to his ability to lead the army. Like his elder brother, he is somewhat of an academic, even more so actually, and he does love to spend some time searching Castor for the remnants of an ancient civilization, although he never does expect to find one. It is nothing more than hobby, at least for now.
Bio: Perseus Au’lair is the eldest son of Aurelius Au’lair. For a young man in only his early 20s, Perseus has already begun to show that he has inherited many of his family’s common traits. He is skilled bomber pilot and he has shown a knack for running business. Whether he will follow in his grandfather’s or father’s footsteps is yet to be scene but there is no doubt, there is potential in this young man for greater things, things that will ensure the survival and power of House Au’lair.

The Cogaíochs came to power in the Era of the Tetrarchy, fighting for the Tetrarch of Delpha. The House of Terra Nova was killed in battle and the Cogaíochs managed to distinguish themselves in battle. As dukes of the sector, they took part in several major battles. However, war was not what distinguished the Cogaíochs. They successfully managed to turn the desert planet of Terra Nova into a thriving industrial planet.
Their riches improved over the years and their power only expanded. They even built factories on the 6 Terra Novan moons. They built schools, hospitals and universities and allowed the commoners free access. Having consolidated their power on Terra Nova and the surrounding Sector, they built a powerful fleet and committed to the defence of the empire and the Emperor. However they will never forget the time they fought with Delpha for their Lord.

The Grafs, Lords of Delpha and Dukes of the associated Delpha Sector (encompassing the systems of Bastion, Dabot, Krak and Aquilae), are a militaristic family family by nature, wholly embracing the aristocratic culture of gentlemanly conduct, attention to duty and support of the Monarchy. Acting as custodians of an important part of the Imperial frontier with the expansive Gerthite Consortium, as well as the smaller Principality of Marune, the need for military ability and resources is great in the Sector, a necessity that plays a large part in the Grafs being so militaristic in character.
Relatives of the old Tetrarchs of Delpha, House Graf can trace their lineage back to the era and to a line of important politicians and military commanders serving the Tetrarchs. At one point a daughter of the Tetrach married into what would become House Graf and, after the defeat of the Tetrarchy and unification of the Empire, it was this line of the family that rose to power after the others had died in the wars or failed to produce heirs.
Spoiler for House Graf:
Klaus Graf, Lord of Delpha and Duke of the Delpha Sector
Lord Klaus Graf is a career soldier who holds his role as a political figure secondary to his fleet. Most often found commanding manoeuvres or tending to the workings of the Delphan Navy, Klaus has served various stints in both his own fleet and in the Imperial Navy. A stern Monarchist and firm believer that the Empire is above all other polities, he has a very black and white view on territories outside the Empire or territories inside the Empire expressing a dislike of being so.
Klaus was 48 years old in 981 IC when the Lords of Delpha, Terra Nova, Durdane and Metropolis went to war with the Emperor Usul VI over his attempts to change the succession laws of Viceroys. Usul VI died in one of the major fleet engagements, alongside Klaus' father and much of the Delphan fleet, which bore the brunt of the Imperial Navy's hammer blow. Klaus, now Viceroy of Delpha, spearheaded the reconstruction of the Delphan fleet around a Carrier-based model at home, while commanding the remnants of the Delphan fleet in the field centering on the 4 remaining Battleships and associated support vessels. The new Emperor Devenda fought on for a little while longer but, with the victorious Viceroy's fleets closing in on the Terran system, relented. Klaus' signature now sits on one of the most important documents in the Empire that saw the expansion of the Landsraad's powers.
Despite having personally fought an Emperor, Klaus remains a Monarchist. Though Emperors can individually be tyrants or incompetent, the institution is, to Klaus, of vital importance to the Empire.
Age: 67 (born 933)
Traits: 12
+5 Admiral (+1 as a Marcher): A lifetime of service in the Imperial Navy and a lifetime of administering Delpha's extensive military requirements has made Klaus a veteran commander.
+4 Administrator: Educated in the finest establishments in the Empire and honed with deep military studies covering everything from strategy to logistics in the Delphan Naval Academy has made Klaus a highly educated man.
+2 Mercenary Contractor: No stranger to Soldiers of Fortune, Klaus has many contacts in the industry, and battle experience with many others, giving him some influence among the trade.
+2 Trader: A deep understanding of military logistics needs extends into certain areas of civilian life, such as understanding the logistics of freight.
Eric Graf, Hier to Lord Klaus Graf
Age: 42
Traits: 8
+3 Guerilla Warfare Expert: A firm believer in the doctrine of death by a thousand cuts, Eric is adept at operations behind enemy lines, raiding poorly defended systems and diluting enemy fleet strength into garrison efforts.
+4 Admiral (+1 as a Marcher): Educated in the Delphan Naval Academy, Eric is no stranger to a Battle Line of all-big-gun warships or the operations of Carrier Groups.
+2 Charisma: Eric is adept at spinning tales of daring actions behind enemy lines or right under their nose.
Auxes:
-- 1 daughter born to Eric at age 20, his first wife dying in childbirth.
-- 2 sons born to Eric at 26 and 28.
William Graf
Age: 40
Traits: 8
+5 General (+1 as a Marcher): The man in the family charged with commanding Delpha's smaller ground forces. William, as Field Marshal, has focused the limited resources his father delegates to the Army on creating a well-oiled and elite core of soldiers.
+2 Charisma: His command of the Army has given him confidence and discipline, both advantageous in social situations.
+2 Administrator: An Army marches on its stomach, and William has become skilled at acquiring what the Army needs on a tight budget, making him an all-round skilled financial administrator.
Auxes:
-- 1 son, born to William at 29.
-- 1 daughter, born to William at 32.
Spoiler for Kem:
Condotierri in the employ of House Graf.
Age: 47
Traits: 8
+4 Spymaster: As a man of the underworld, Kem has friends, or friends of friends, or men who owe him a favour, in many of the Empire's dive bars and deep space trading posts.
+4 Charisma: Be it through a silver tongue or a sharp silvery object held to the throat, Kem is adept at "convincing" people to see his way of things.

The Gotos trace their lineage back to the founding of the republic, known to the Krugans as the Family Wars. In 390 IC, ten prominent families led an uprising against the tyrant who had oppressed the system for many years. This was in accordance with Emperor Orion I's War of Reunification, as the Warlord of Sirius was busy battling the imperial forces. Though the tyrant eventually fell from his throne, the following three decades saw countless small wars between the families, all vying for supremacy. Despite imperial intervention, these wars did not end until the passing of Orion the Restorer. The head of each family met on the planet Donet, the fifth from the system's sun, and declared that the Republic of Kruger was born. One of these men was the progenitor of the House Goto, Saito Goto.
The republic thrived during Second Meriocratic Era. The economy swelled with new trade and a booming industry, while the republic reformed its institutions. A man's lineage and name meant nothing; his intellect, his merits and his wealth determined his place in society. The ten families, instead of establishing yet another line of aristocracy, turned into economical magnates, striving for liberal policies within industry and commerce. Although the democracy expanded, the families kept a lot of influence over the new republic. In 423 IC, Saito Goto founded the Goto Conglomerate, the power base of all future generations. Specifically, the extraordinary discovery of mineral rich asteroids in the Sanada Belts secured the company's continued prominence.
During the next five centuries, seeing the rise and fall of many emperors, countless wars and the rise of feudalism, Kruger remained relatively unscratched through the conflicts. This was due to its insignificant position at the northern edge of the Empire, a minor system in the Sirius Sector. The Gotos were among those who advocated for an independent Kruger, but never openly. Fear for retaliation from the rulers of Sirius helped keep the unrest down.
The Era of the Great Transition was the turning point of the system. With feudalism on the rise, the republic feared that this would mean its end. Through hard work and several long negotiations, along with cooperation with several other republican systems, it was decreed that the "merchant republics" would be sworn directly to the Emperor.
Striving once more under the new stability, Kruger elected the head of House Goto, Rin Goto, as the new head of state, or State Governor.
Rin Goto
Name: Rin Goto
Title: State Governor of the Republic
Age: 43 (Born 937 IC)
Traits (8 points):
Administrator 4 (+10% system income)
Charisma 2 (+2 to rolls when attempting to convince AI characters of something)
Trader 2 (+1 trade fleet for every 2 levels)
Bio:
The head of the Goto family is not one of great physical prowess. Standing at 1.77 meters (5'8), neither muscular, fat nor gaunt, Rin would at first glance not intimidate anyone. Though she has a sharp face, with an oval shape and pronounced edges; wrinkles are starting to appear, which is nothing she is concerned over. Her hazel eyes carry an authority and clarity which demands great presence. Her raven black hair is kept short and straight, ending just above her lower neck. The clothing of the state governor are tailored slim and fitting, often in dark colors without any excess decorations. What is Rin Goto's most recognizable trait is her cybernetic right arm. White plastic material covering all but the joints, black-colored metal, with an artificial nervous system connected to her own makes the arm as good as the real thing. The necessity of it was required after a birth defect which caused her to be born without a right arm.
Born into the wealthy Goto family, Rin's path in life had already been determined. Going to the best schools in the system with top grades, all the while working hard for the Goto Conglomerate together with her older relatives, she was prepared to one day take over the company. This meant little free time and few but loyal friends who would stay together through adulthood. When she graduated from Kruger's best business university among the best of the year at 28 years of age, her father passed on the mantle of the company. Under her leadership, the Goto Conglomerate continued its prominence with continued expansion of its mine stations in the asteroid fields. She married Lumas Tyrf, a member of her board of directors at 30, though he took her name. The couple has two children: Sakura, 14 years old, and Tela, 12 years. After deciding to go into politics, Rin fought her way to the top and was elected the State Governor of Kruger in 990 IC. She has ruled for the last ten years.
Rin Goto is a woman who strives for peace, which is driven by her business-focused mind. A peaceful empire is open for trade and thriving industry. The past eras of warlords, tetrarchies and rebellions were the works of unintelligent savages. The meritocratic eras were the golden ages of the empire in her opinion, with Hasan I being an idol to her. However, only a fool would think that a tiger without claws or fangs is powerful. Behind the clean exterior is a calculating woman, more than willing to use "dishonorable" methods to reach her goals. One man dying instead of countless others in a war is a good trade.
Though the past emperors of the meritocratic eras are revered, the Krugan holds the firm belief that the emperor and the Landsraad hold too much power. Loyalty to the republic standing first and foremost, any moves from the Empire to try to impose its own will upon Kruger is viewed as tyranny. This is not ailed by Rin's belief in Guanism, a sect within the Prometheanism which does not recognize the sanctity of Terra nor the "enlightened" position of the Emperor within the faith.
Family:

-Lumas Goto, husband, born 935 IC (45)
--Sakura Goto, firstborn daughter, born 986 IC (14)
--Tela Goto, second daughter, born 988 IC (12)

Born in Kepler, son of a petty bureaucrat and a school teacher, both citizens of the Empire, Tailles is a highly educated man and a very promising entrepreneur.
At a young age, after finishing his studies, Tailles used his father's little influence to get a position in a small trading corporation of Kepler. The corporation's income skyrocketed with Tailles' guidance and he was soon promoted to CEO.
But the stock market is a fickle thing and in a particularly awful day, Tailles' company lost a lot of money and a bigger fish took the opportunity to purchase it. Realizing he had nothing left to do in Kepler, Tailles left for greener, although much more dangerous, pastures: Terra itself. Skills +4 Administrator

Emhyr was never a military man, but he was good with numbers and at remembering names. Which proved to be vital when he required to root out the enemies of his court
It is said that nothing happens at Sirius without his agents hearing. The constant fear of being cracked down by the county's secret police force: the "Dynion Cudd", has kept the system at peace.
House Calidan of Nu Scorprii Count Iskandar (Alexander) III Calidan

Desert Planet with Large Population, Solvent Productivity and Wealth. A small Penal Colony is located upon the planet's surface. The presence of a Gas Giant nearby grants fuel for the systems navy.
Count Iskandar III of the House Calidan is the son of late Count Maalik I who fought in the Second and Third Lord's Rebellion. Iskandar participated in the Third Lord's Rebellion, sent by his late father, with a small detachment from the Nu Scorpii Navy and Army to serve under the Duke of Delpha's command as a sign of friendship and support. The Count's participation showed his capabilities as an Fleet commander and as a future Count. This solidified his reputation among the County's vassals and retainers, making his succession a rather quiet transition in 986 IC. Iskandar III is widely known as a veteran commander, devotee to the Imperialist Promethean, a supporter of the Empire and a noble character within his system and throughout the known universe. He remains active in ruling Nu Scorpii and participating in the Empire as if he was still in his prime years.
House Calidan, officially founded by Iskandar I, traces its ancestry as far back as the Tetrarch, Vedas I, who possessed one of the four Titans, Primordial Retribution, which was built in 673 IC. By Vedas I, they further trace their lineage to a later successor, Jahan V, who was defeated by Numerius VIII in a successful attempt to reunite the Empire. Jahan V was the first Viceroy of Nu Scorpii after his domain's surrender in 841 IC. As time went on, descendants of Vedas I and Jahan V continued to rule as Viceroys and, more recently, Counts of Nu Scorpii. Once the forefathers of House Calidan commanded the territory of not only Nu Scorpii, but also the neighboring systems of Dorsum and Sirius during the age of the Divided Empire and the Tetrarchy. Their home of Nu Scorpii still sports an Imperial-styled palace built by Vedas I and inhabited by his successors. Its splendor and magnificence is truly a marvel to sight within the capital city on Nu Scorpii. Such a rich and decorated history has earned respect and envy towards House Calidan, who tries to emulate its forefathers by strict education, experience and energetic participation at home and among the Empire's ranks. Despite such a history of independence and rebellious attitude, House Calidan displays an rather staunchly loyalist attitude towards the Empire and are devoted followers of Imperialist Prometheanism.

Dorsum is one of the Northern Systems, adjacent to the blessed Terra and the Mighty Mars, seat of his Imperial Majesty. Thus it was one of the first colonized systems in the early days of the terran expansion to the stars and beyond Terra System. During the first eras of the Empire Dorsum was subjected to Nu Scorpii and its rulers. However with the end of the First Era of Warlordism their lineage was extinguished by Orion the Restorer. Profiting from the vacuum of power left by the emperor's actions a local lineage started to gain notoriety, the clan of Mihram. Their influence only grew bigger when they started to control the planet's public offices, including that of supervisor of the warpgate who ultimately granted them the customs taxes. A century later they were incredibly wealthy, owners of one of the Empire's finest trading companies, also known by their production of luxury space yachts. However the heads of the clan have often been known by their eccentricity; The House of Mihram has always cultivated and protected the arts, scholars, well-known composers and poets comprise its ranks, but more than often they were famous by their absent-mindedness. Jalaluddin Mihram, one of the greatest scholars the Empire has known, was elected emperor by the Laandsraad against his will, raising with the regnal name of Hassan III. After his abdication the clan was left on the edge, almost bankrupt by the misgovernment of Hassan, who had little interest in neither reigning or running his family's business. For that reason his infant grandson had to recognize again the overlordship of Nu Scorpii. The House of Calidan eventually rose to galactic-wide influence when its head became one of the Tetrarchs. Unable to match the enormous power of the Calidan, the Mihram submitted themselves willingly to their authority and put at their disposal the wealth of Dorsum and its factories, including the fine electronic components, trademark of the system and the fuel of its gas giant. After Jahan V was demoted, the emperor, Numerius VIII, appointed him as viceroy and did the same with the then-head of Mihram, Bahadur I, who firmly established in the next decades a solid authority over the whole system. In these days primogeniture, rather than the previous tanistry, was chosen as the succession law for the clan, who effectively became a ruling House. That, however didn't end the relation between Calidan and Mihram; when Gwyn II chose to use the force to comply the lords to his will two lords rose in defiance to the Emperor, Akbar III and Maalik I, heads of Dorsum and Nu Scorpii systems, starting the Second Lord's Rebellion in 939 IC, sweeping South with their private armies and subduing the emperor to their will. And they rose again in the Third Lord's Rebellion. In 985 IC the head of the House of Mihram, Alamgir II, assumed the title of Count of the Known Universe Empire

Born during the days of Ismail IV in 925 IC as the firstborn son of Akbar III, viceroy of Dorsum, Alamgir was always a bright boy. Tall and lanky, lean and lithe, Alamgir is no man of action. Since his youth he preferred History, Art and lore, rather than warfare and agression. Educated by the best scholars in the system, home of one of the finest universities in the Empire, he became a cultured man, poet, composser and historian. From his early days he was always involved and devoted to the Arts, he spent his youth uninterested in the events around him and the decisions of his agressive, ambitious and powerful father. Lacking another suitable heir Alamgir inherited his title, wealth and reputation in 963 IC. He reluctantly marched to war during the Third Lord's Rebellion pressured by the system nobility and his extended family, leaving the direction of the war in the hands of his resourceful, yet young, son, Khurram. A calm, pacific, man he welcomed eagerly the return of peace, even if it was fragile and unstable and devoted himself again to study and art-connoisseurship. The Mihram Art Collection is one of the biggest and most magnificent in the Empire, comprised by old terran and alien artworks and Alamgir is always seeking new rare and valuable artifacts. However, Alamgir is not an absent-minded Lord, he's a veteran administrator and a cunning trader; the Mihram Company's benefits have grown by a 25% in the years following the end of the war, profiting from Alamgir's careful management, and he's known to strike the most benefitius deals. After all he needs money to fund his appetites and promote scholarship and culture all over the system. He married Roxanne in the year 955 IC, with a sole child born of their union, Khurram; the hard labor, unusual in these times, led to his mother's prematury death in 957 IC, to his husband's sorrow, who decided to not marry again.

"Esrah Garuda" was born as Shivaji of the House of la Nausca, 980 years since the birth of the Empire of the Known Universe.
His mother died in childbirth due to bad planning that caused the young Freyma to be born in the middle of a doctor-less spacepod.
The infant boy was put in a vat for an entire month, due to an early, disastrous birth.
The House of la Nausca is known throughout the Empire's large expanses as fallen, disgraced family.
In the late 980's, political intrigues in the Landsraad landed Shivaji's father supposedly in charge of a separatist movement.
The Landsraad condemned the la Nausca to the ancient punishment of complete decimation, leaving only the young children alive.
The male and female adults of the family were taken to the Landsraad, and tried as terrorists and war criminals before being put to death by letting them suffocate in open space.
The evidence was weak at best, based on unreliable testimonies and a lack of allies for the la Nausca - no one would side with a house that had made enemies of much of the Landsraad.
The domain of the la Nausca has been swept under the boards, pieced apart and given to rest of the Landsraad.
Among their holdings were valuable gas giants, rare minerals (specifically the black metal known as "Ladicite"), and supposedly an old core of a Titan.
It's unclear to this day of what truly was happening under the la Nausca's hand, but no one dares investigate it.
Shivaji was separated from his remaining relatives, and enrolled at a military academy at a young age.
He changed his name to "Esrah Garuda" at the age of 16, between two schools.
Now he has been appointed to the staff of the Lord Admiral of the Imperial Navy as an adjutant.
It seems that a career now opens up ahead for Garuda, if only to recover some sense of honor and respect...

House Bio
During the 720 IC house o Dorüm started there ascend to power. With good political decision and sometime with mere luck they were able to get the Acamar system in 722 IC. In that time house was ruled by Nim III last to be know by that name. During the first years of the rule Nim ordered for the extended search of the planet and the system for any ruins or alive technology left behind. In that time the temple of The Undying Sun was found after that all of the members of the House started following religion of The Undying Sun. The transition to the new religion is was very bloody, any member of the House that refused to join was killed and set as an example to others, Nim III killed all of his 4 sons so he did not have any direct heirs and so his brother had to step on the House throne when Nim died. Nim was proclaimed the First Saint of The Undying Sun and his name is now forbidden to be given to any child. During the wars in the Empire House of Dorüm was always careful waiting to choose the side until it was certain that they can win and that the family will have a benefit of joining. All that they did was for their benefit newer truly allaying with anyone. Because of this they were hated by many but yet again they are still here.
House Akatsuya of Jehenna, Dukes of the Metropolis Domain
Sigil : Silver phoenix with red and gold flames
Words : All Stars burn as one
History
The first mention of House Akatsuya in the history of the Empire is during the First Era of Warlordism, where a member of the house betrayed the Warlord of Metropolis to support Orion I when his forces marched on Metropolis. Prior to that, historians believe the Akatsuya were influential industrialists and researchers on Jehenna, with the occasional politician and military figure from their ranks. The present Akatsuya have not strayed far from their origins, being Technocrats who actively support and research new technology along with industrializing the Metropolis system to rival some of the other major systems of the empire.
In the Second Era of Meritocracy, the Akatsuya would occasionally be Mayors of the Metropolis system or more frequently, planetary deputies to the Mayor for Jehenna that was despite being an elected position, was usually hereditary amongst the Akatsuya. Outside of politics, they would further expand their industrial and research capabilities, being responsible for the first floating city on Jehenna and the Suteitu pattern sensor, originally intended for mining but adopted by local military forces. This development would be the first of many advanced sensor and other military technologies that have emerged from Metropolis over the course of history. After the Martian Mutiny, Ieyasu Akatsuya would seize power as the Warlord of Metropolis with the aid of a hired mercenary company. The Akatsuya warlords would come to conquer the Osmo and Gumpalt systems over the course of the era, before become vassals of the Au'lair of Castor towards the later part of the Second Era of Warlords, the reason believed for this by historians may have been impending invasion from another larger warlord or some form of marriage alliance between Castor and Metropolis.
During the Divided Empire and Tetrarchy, the Akatsuya would provide Castor with advanced technology and resources for it's war machine. Some historians believe that they may have assisted with the construction of Castor's Titan. Following the reunification of the Empire, the Akatsuyas would become Viceroys of Metropolis. Being content, the first Akatsuya Viceroy, Ieyasu(VII), would focus on internal affairs over political ones, only being involved is politics on a notable level when Ismail IV attempted to directly tax the Viceroyalties of the Empire, after which Ieyasu supported a Landsrad motion calling for his impeachment but due to the outbreak of the First Lords' Rebellion, it never came to pass. During the rebellion, he sent some 'volunteers' and funds to support the rebels, predominatly the Akatsuya's former overlords in Castor. Metropolis would remain neutral in the Second Lords' Rebellion.
The Akatsuya would be a major participant in the Third Rebellion due to actions by Usul VI towards the system after Viceroy Daizo refused to grant him schematics for some prototype vehicle, or a more likely reason, Metropolis voting against Usul VI for another candidate. A seconday Imperial fleet with some royalist forces provided by other Viceroys would attack the Metropolis domain in 980 IC, successfully occupying Porteno in first few months of 981 IC. The rest of the year would a series of skirmishes, raids, and the Siege of Gumpalt(981-983), where after losing the space battle of which any surviving ships would flee to Osmo to bolster the forces gathering there, the Sub-Viceroy of Gumpalt's forces would retain control of the planetary capital and roughly a third of the planet. A small fleet would be left to continue a blockade on Gumpalt and to support planetary offensives while the rest of the fleet moved on Osmo and Metropolis.
One of two major engagements in the Third Lords' Rebellion, the Battles of Osmo and Jehenna(982) would see the royalist fleet defeated by the local fleet of Osmo, a portion of Gumpalt ships, and the Phoenix Fleet of Metropolis. Planetary assaults during the Battle of Osmo would be repulsed outside of a small pocket, where Imperial forces would hold out for several weeks before surrendering to Osmo forces. On Jehenna, due to sensor and atmospheric interference, a tenth of the landing craft would crash into the lava oceans of the planet, while othes would crash into the mountains of the planet. Around 25 to 40% of Jehenna's infastructure would be destroyed in the three month battle. Following their defeat at Osmo and Metropolis, the royalist forces would withdraw to Porteno. The Siege of Gumpalt mwould be lifted in early 983, and an offensive to reclaim Porteno was planned, but the death of Viceroy Daizo would delay that until 984 IC. In 984 IC, whle the new Viceroy would remain to oversee the reconstruction of Osmo, Metropolis, and Gumpalt, Metropolis forces would assault Porteno, defeating the royalist fleet in the Second Battle of Porteno and with the aid of a local resistance movement, reclaim the planet. Over the couse of 985 and 986, an offensive into Terra would be launched, with the Metropolis fleet defeating the Golden Fleet and occupying the planet Kepler. After the Third Rebellion, the Akatsuya would be minimally involved in politics, preferring to focus on rebuilding their system, military forces, and industry over arguing matters in the Landsraad.

Empress Valeria I (Kathra) was born on Mars to House Rezal in 925 IC. House Rezal has historically declined offers of governance over systems in the Empire's periphery, instead remaining in Terra as politicians and commanders of note in the Imperial Army. Valeria's early years were shaped by the Second Lords Rebellion, which saw her increasingly siding with the empowerment of the Landsraad and the codification of the rights of Freyma. Upon the end of the war and the impeachment of Gwyn II, she enlisted in the Imperial Army. Following the death of her father in 951 IC, she took control of the family and adopted its seat in the Landsraad.
Valeria served in the Army until 979 IC, rising to the rank Admiral. Following the coronation of Usul VI, the Emperor attempted to interfere with the legal succession rights of the Empire's Viceroys. This dispute quickly escalated into the Third Lords Rebellion as the conflict took on the characteristics of Imperial versus Landsraad prerogative once more. Valeria tendered her resignation upon the news that the Imperial Army would be sent against the rebel lords. A good portion of her fleet left with her, due to the tenuous grasp Usul had over his own forces.
Joining with the rebel lords, the largest battle of the war was fought near Durdane. Despite the rebel forces suffering heavy losses and losing the Duke of Delpha - their most experienced commander - the day way eventually won. Emperor Usul was killed aboard the Imperial flagship during a boarding engagement led by Valeria, with official accounts conflicting over who fired the final shot. After this historic victory, Devendra I was hastily elected by the remaining Loyalists but their scattered fleets had by that point been largely broken. Valeria acquitted herself excellently, commanding fleets in skirmishes throughout the core systems.
After the imposition of peace, Valeria was one of the signing dignitaries of the Vox Domini, legally securing even more legal concessions for the Freyma and Landsraad and taking on the rank of Duchess. For the remaining years of Devendra I and the entirety of Alessandra II's reigns, Valeria acted with Landsraad sanction in the role of Lord Admiral of the Imperial Army. It was said by some that the appointment was to act as a particularly unsubtle reminder of what happens to those Emperors who interfere with the Landsraad's legal privileges.
Following the abdication of Alessandra II in 1,000 IC, Valeria was elected to the supreme post of Empress.

Polyxena van Halewyck is ruler of the Orion system. She is not the most typical of rulers. Often she is stubborn, unpredictable and shown to be cunning. She is able to be a charming woman, but often she is impatient and sometimes even cruel. Instead of taking up studies of Economics, History or Law, according to her responsibilities of a noble ruler, she went to Orion's leading fashion school. When asked why she had made the choice, she responded that her planets main product would be her own too. But it is likely she rather chose it because she had little taste for studies. She is guided by a council of her own and usually follows their advice, but has proven to be a steadfast ruler in the past too. She is mostly bored and because of her disinterest of it, confused about politics.
Her royal court is notorious for its endless stream of parties, gossip and intrigue.
