need help with byzantine scripted war
it seems that when you start byzantine late era with hard or very hard difficulty it is scripted to start war with seljuks and venice from the start. I want to delete this. But I don't know what or where to change. So I really need your help. Your help would be much appreciated

Re: need help with byzantine scripted war
Don't do it!! You can overcome the Latin and Turkish barbarians!!
I usually destroy the buildings in Trebizond and sell the settlement to Egypt for money and alliance, most importantly money. Use money to mass military and ship Komnenos with his army by sea to Nicaea to rally with forces in Anatolia to retake Rhodes while your forces in Greece ship and take Crete.
After taking those Venetian islands they will want peace. Now you have the peace you desire with them and +2 easily defended settlements. Send some forces to take Scopia and the rest to battle the Turks for Isparta and just keep hammering them until they want peace too.
Once you have more settlements and can afford to lose troops, battle the Rebels controlling Constantinople and Greece. Venice has few armies and replenishes slowly with a couple settlements, and Turks have only light troops. You start with some elite forces and if you don't take advantage of it early, they will outproduce you, and overwhelm you.
Or if you really want to.. go to data/campaign/late/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_strat
Then CTRL + F and type diplomacy and it will take you to the diplomacy section and it is pretty self explanatory from there

Re: need help with byzantine scripted war
I agree with the previous poster, don't delete it. I'm currently in late campaign with ERE and its is quite doable. Shift heavy spearmen and heavy infantry from Canakale to Nicea, you can do it in two turns, just in the first turn stay with them outside of the reach of the Turkish army, recruit what you can in Nicea. On the second turn they will besiege it, and eventually add more units, and attack Nicea with 1.5 stack. You can thus annihilate huge Turkish army in 3 turns. With the recruitment of militias in the Smyrna you can then with the garrison in Smyrna take Isparta within 3 turns. Recruit in Durazzo constantly and keep heavy cav there. Venetian army is mostly infantry. I've managed to hold on to Durazzo with the couple of heroic victories. Meanwhile, recruit in Arta everything you can in the 1st turn, mounted acrtea especiallly, and sail with that army to take Crete and afterwards Rhodes, after that you've won the campaign. Cities in Asia Minor and Constantinople, which can be taken around 25th turn are money makers.
Cheers.

Re: need help with byzantine scripted war
Why would you do that?? ERE has "the strongest roster" for at least 80-100 turns from starting camp.at 1220. With half stack you can keep turks at check while with some mix of cheap units, general and very few elites you can retake Greece. I have done that 2 times, it is not easy blitz-win, but it is not that hard as well...
Basically it force you to win battles with lowest casualties possible. That is it. Once you retake Greece lands, economy will skyrock...
