Unlimited Men on Battlefield not in preference.cfg, Need Help!

Ok, so I posted this in text editing and scripting, and I know intentional cross-posting is a mortal sin on forums such as these, but I'm concerned it may have been off-topic there, and no one is answering, and I believe it to be a relatively simple issue, so mods, anyone experienced, please help!

In medieval2preference.cfg in root folder, "unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 1" is never there, and when I enter it manually and turn on read-only in properties, I still get the dreaded "enemies reinforcements delayed" about my pc specs. Basically, it isn't there, and doesn't work. I know that this game is poorly optimized and stuff and that even buck CPUs have trouble with it, but my specs are fine (AMD A8-5600K APU and R9270 GPU) and I just want to be able to play against multiple enemy stacks at battle start instead of only one because I can't get this simple option in the cfg to work! Please help!

Nevermind, reinstalled with patches and nailed it! Long live TW!
