    Default CRASH on siege with 3 besieging armies - HELP APPRECIATED!

    Hi there,
    I had a similar problem a while ago and the solution was to download the latest RBAI from the mod subforum which I did.
    Now I'm having a fun campaign with Seljuks and 3 armies are besieging my capital which is Constantinople. Auto resolve of course screws it up so I want to fight on my own... There is the problem

    The 3 participant armies in the battle are Scotland, HRE and one more (i forgot the name). Only one of them has siege equipment ready so I deploy my main army to face that threat.
    The other army, which is a little smaller has 3 trebuchets and no other siege eq, while the 3rd army has no siege eq at all, so I leave that part of my wall undefended.

    I have tried 3 times now and it seems the problem is related to the trebuchet army. As soon as it breaches my wall the AI switches tactic (I think they are switching from idle to assault as soon as the breach is there) and the game freezes. A few seconds later I get the Error message that M2 has encountered a fatal error. -> Alt Tab -> close application

    I tried to sneak around this problem by rushing out my general cavalry on the second try and trying to destroy the trebuchets before they can breach the wall. As soon as my cavalry is in charge distance the game again freezes and crashes.

    The problem is definately that army switching its behaviour profiles from idle to offensive.

    I'm only having this problem on massive battles where reinforcements are involved.

    Is this a known bug? Does anyone have an idea how to fix it?


    I could avoid that situation by speeding up my reinforcements by declaring a Jihad on a close Byz province and thus increasing the movement points of my reinforcing army so it can reach before the battle turn (last save is 1 turn before). But having already all of Europe except the orthodox against me, I'd like to avoid adding another enemy to that list.

    Uh... Unfortunately I now went with a gameplay workaround to avoid the siege battle. The savegame is overwritten now

    Next time you have a crash immediately copy and save your log, otherwise the game will overwrite it. It has the most important info on crashes
