Default Civil War in Single Party Factions

Hi there, firstly I want to thank all the developers of this awesome mod, but I want to ask what can I do to prevent civil war in single party factions? Currently I'm playing as Parthia and civil war just hit me, and my influence is around 86%. I thought that low civil war chance should start to occur if your influence is below 65%

So did I, but it is also caused by your Imperium level as well, so even if you have an influence of 100%, an imperium level of 4 will give you a low chance of civil war each turn, the chance of civil war is also effected by the difficulty level.

I also feel this is sort of broken. I have 82% influence in a Sparta game, and upon hitting Imperium 4, I immediately get a low chance of civil war. I've heard that Rome doesn't instantly get a irreversible civil war risk at Imperium 4, so surely this is not working as intended? I'm playing on Normal/Normal.

Rome does not even get a chance of Civil war at Imperium lv 5 either, my opponent is sitting on that, has been for the last 50+ turns and has never had a chance of civil war, I have had two civil wars as Sparta so far in our match, I have another and it will probably hand the game over to my Roman adversary.
Add to this that the enemy at the gates event is now disabled as it was bugged, it makes it even easier to avoid a civil war as the Romans.

I quit my Seleucid campaign because of that. I had influence of actually 97 % and at imperium 5 I was getting civil war way too often.

The trick is the lower your influence to about 65%-70%, then there will be no civil war chance...

Wow what is your current imperium level? I just hit imperium level 4 when the low civil war chance notification started to appear.

As a single party faction, 65% gives you a low chance of civil war each turn, add to this the fact that it makes no difference what influence you have, if you have 4 Imperium or higher, you are going to have a chance at a civil war each turn.

According to the DeI Guide and comments from the Devs, higher influence should be necessary to stop civil wars from happening in DeI, but that doesn't seem to be the case:

That is in the DEI database.

There is a value in the database that sets a minimum of 20% of generals that join the civil war, if no generals are of an opposing family, it obviously takes from yours.

I actually really like how that is supposed to work since it made sense that in a monarchy the ruling family should hold the most power.
Chances of Civil war are not only based on influence, but also on Imperium, starting at imperium 4 the chance of civil war increases, this does not seem to be the case with Rome or Carthage however.

I am pretty sure that at least in vanilla, the higher your influence is, the higher civil war chance gets.

What happens if all your generals are from the ruler family? Who will lead the rebellion?

This happened to me, I was at imperium 4 and had like 92% all generals belonged to my family. The game simply made one of my own families generals switch sides...

Happened to me as well. Seems odd, I mean if you are part of the ruling party wouldn't you want to stick with it? Unless an opportunity came to usurp and the individual couldn't resist then I'm not sure. That was my plan though have all my armies / navies lead by my family, in hopes they would not turn.

Influence has to be balanced between the family members 65-45 (ish) to prevent civil war. 92% is going to get civil war.

If your main party is too high or too low you will get civil war - balance it

I just had something like this happen in my Seleucid campaign. The Scriptorium's politics guide literally says that lower influence in single party factions = higher civil war so I was gunning for max influence but now I have a low chance of civil war. It sucks because I just got back into this game after taking a break from a Roman campaign I had going. Also for all the people saying to lower the influence, yes that is how it works in the vanilla game but the guide written by Dresden in the Scriptorium says
    Civil War Variables
    Low Chance: 65% Influence
    Medium Chance: 55% Influence
    High Chance: 45% Influence
I actually really like how that is supposed to work since it made sense that in a monarchy the ruling family should hold the most power.

The fact of the matter is, the Civil War mechanic does not seem to be working correctly between Single Party factions and Multi-Party factions. Either that, or Single Party factions suffer Civil War Imperium creep much quicker than Multi-Party factions, and this should be noted in the DeI database.

There are only so many variables we can edit. These include the imperium levels that increase chances and the influence levels that increase them.

For single party factions, lower influence will have a higher chance of civil wars. The opposite is true for multi-power factions (Rome/Carthage in grand campaign).
