    Hi,

    I need some help about specials generals skins for subcultures.
    As example, Baktrians have their own generals models, but they are hellenistics, I want to do the same with egyptians and made a sort of mix between hellenistics and egyptians models for their commanders.

    I already created some new units for them and I want now to give them specific commanders (as example with egyptian body and hellenistic armor etc...)

    Can you help me and tell me what table(s) I need to edit to give them new commanders skins? It would be great

    If you're just doing a unit just create new officers.
    Creating new sets of general I don't think has ever been done by modders, I for long assumed that it was tied to subcultures. And so I believed if you created a new subculture and then created a set of generals
    with the first three letters of the subcultures name as prefix, then that would work.
    However the fact that the Dacians and Thracians share subculture but not General sets makes that theory doubtable. You could still try as there is a chance.
    I managed to change the Generals of a faction by changing either subculture or military group but I think it was the subculture. Note that I think you cant give a barbarian faction eastern generals as they must be within the Grand Culture, Hellenic,Barbarian,Eastern (I changed the Generals of an eastern faction to african) or Roman. What I am planning to do for my Egypt faction in Cyrus the Great Campaign is I'll give them the Baktrian or Pontos subculture and then reskin the Baktrian or Pontic generals.



    Edit:

    I did a test where I changed Egypts Subculture to Afro-Arabian, it was partly succesful but it should work with some changes.
    First the starting generals all loked like the old ordinary greek generals, but the new generals I recruited all looked African Arabian.
    There was also another problem, the buildings were messed up, but both of those problems happened becuase the Egypt faction is Hellenic but the african arabian subculture is classed as eastern, should be solved by giving them the baktrian subculture instead. And give Baktria the normal Hellenic subculture.

    Are we talking about generals? or the units captain and standard bearer?

    if its the last part, you can look on table:
    land_units_officers_tables

    and in land_units Column: Officers

    @OP, you need to observe What there is in Art SET tables( two or three tables)

    Further, you can assign the new generals either to a specific faction, or to a specific subcultural group.

    @VINC.XXIII modding those tables can i make the general commanding a fleet to actualy been seen in his ship instead of the ship's officer variant representing the general?

    I haven't tested anything regarding admirals or land general on transport ships, best way is to test, and report your findings

    I just success to do it, only some graphical bugs with egyptian bodies, but it's functionnal, I'll fix this later and explain you how to do

    (@Marechal, tu ne peux pas utiliser le même modèle 3D pour la bataille et la carte, il te faut prendre un général oriental et lui refiler des vêtements égyptiens, c'est lié au squelette et l'animation inhérente à ce même squelette.)

    @VINC.XXIII T'inquiètes pas j'ai déjà la solution, je vais reprendre les modeles orientaux et leur appliquer les textures egyptiennes

    @Christos, @VINC.XXIII,@Linke So is it possible in Wos to add generals or make some of the existed, to spawn only for Ionian or Dorian subcult?
    VINC i open some of the tables you mentioned with the hex editor but how can i modify them? for example if i want to modify a general in campaign_character art sets,
    to be recruited only by Korinthos instead of Sparta, i cant because if i change Pel_Sparta to Pel_Korinthos or whatever, i change the file size and it doesn't work..
