DeI models and Variant Editor
Small and perhaps dump question: is there a way that the Variant Editor from the Assembly Kit also shows the DeI units variantmeshdefinitions? When I load one into the Editor I get the uniform vanilla unit, presumably because the Editor has no access to the DeI variantmodels?

Re: DeI models and Variant Editor
I am a novice for the most part about these things. I think you have to export our variants into the assembly kit's folders.

Re: DeI models and Variant Editor
Its easy, I will try to shortly summarise it, open DeI 2-4 in pfm, you will find armors and textures there, simply drag them
to your desktop, if you want a specific helmet you have to find the right textures that are in the same pack with the same prefix. Then go to Assembly kit in data and to working Data and variants or variantmeshes folder and then helmets or whatever you're exporting folder, then just drag the files from your desktop into this folder and drag the textures into the texture folder wich is in the helmet folder. Then you can use them in the Assembly kit.
To get them into game you will also have to put them in your pack file, maybe not if this is a DeI submod you're making.
Note there are hundreds of different models and even more textures and they were made by different modders,
I dont know if the Assembly kit will Crash with all o em

Re: DeI models and Variant Editor
What i do is rename the variantmeshedefinitions folder to something else when ever I want to edit units (eg: Variantmeshdefinitions1) that allows me to easily see DEI units rather than vanilla only...

Re: DeI models and Variant Editor
Thank you very much. I only need some of the new amazing DeI skins (f.e. the full Numidian, which is marvellous) to control wether clothes etc. fit. And it's used with DeI, so I don't need it in my pack I presume. Apart from that I mostly do my edits in the extracted variantmeshdefinitions files.
Edit: I don't get it to work, must do something wrong. Where is the working data folder? Is it that in the Rome2 - Assembly Kit folder? I presume. But wether I put the files into the working data or the raw data folder, they don't appear in the Variant Editor. There are also just a few files in the vanilla Assembly Kit data folders, not near all the vanilla modes you see in the Editor. Where is the data stored that the Variant Editor reads? Does it read directly the models_rome2.pack?
