Region Gifting now a feature when dealing with Hordes only. Why can't we just have region trading in full?

It seems strange how CA are keeping a feature we have long been asking for so close above our heads without simply doing the obvious thing and allowing completely open-ended region trading.

I've heard the argument before that region trading would be difficult because of how the province system works, but honestly there are multiple ways to go around this:

• Click the map to choose a region, double click for the whole province.
• Two separate diplomatic actions, one for region and the other for provinces.

I want to be optimistic and hope that CA will realise just how ridiculous something like this is, or at the very least making it possible for modders to work on the diplomatic actions and make this possible, but it seems to me like they'll just ignore this and implement full-on region trading in the next Total War or never again.

What are your thoughts on this?

Until they could develope a working AI that could handle region trading properly, I'm against this feature. It's simply game-breaking to see Sassanid Empire taking London in return of 10,000 golds.

Because its stupid and its a Game Braker For the AI in the diplomacy and brakes imenssion.Back then it was cheaper not to go to war with other factions,you banks 100 000 gold and you got 1/10 of the map for 1 turn.I did a campaign in the past like this with Zero Battles vs the AI just for the sake of the test.. Go play the older games and try doing it and you see how a game braker that was/is for those games.

I think it has to do with the AI, not being able to use the feature or get exploited by it.

I wish there was a way to at least do it to solidify provinces. IE: You could trade a settlement, but only if the faction you're trading it to owns part of that province. It limits you from buying whole provinces, or settlements where you do not already own part of that province. I declare a lot of 'unnecessary' wars against allies because I want to have a full province, when otherwise I would just pay them for it and let them stay in other provinces.

If they introduced cultural/religious/adjacent land limits no matter if the money offered is too high it would work.

We ? No. This is what I want. Region trading (more like region offering) should only be available to hordes.

Because you give it to them to get them off your back. If that horde is eating all your food, it might be cheaper just to give them a region, as well as improving relations with them.

There's no reason to limit the player's ability to give regions. The player should be able to give regions to their allies and puppet states to strengthen them and to fix messy borders. The player should also be able to give regions to anyone else in order to play other factions against each other.

Well it should also depend on your diplomatic status and religion.

If they dont like you, or undecided they should say: hell no!

If they are really freindly with you military alliances or >100 relations, they should maybe give it to you for alot of gold.

If they are a different religion even if you are really freindly they should not be so willing to give you a region.

The reason i found it necessary in Rome 2 is cause you couldnt complete a province if your ally owns that region, now in Atilla i know it doesnt matter you can issue edicts without the whole province, but i dont feel complete without the whole set, plus you miss out on important buildings you want in a province.

Obviously there would be AI determining whether to take it or not.

The map is huge, so I would really like the ability to help Ai allies recapture their land that was recently lost. I always hate waiting by a region waiting for an Ai army to show up. I don't have time to wait 20+ turns, I just want to go in take it back and return it to the original owner. I wish there was a way that could happen.

Make it avaible only to your allies, with hordes or when doing a peace treaty,

When you are building up peace agreement, with your enemies of course, it is normal to exchange land. Most peace agreements go about this in reality, why isn't it like that in these games?

And you do not usually exchange land with your allies except you have capture it from your enemies, to give it back to your allies, because it has been previously agreed so or because a reward for the war effort. But none of these actions are now possible.

hmm perhaps they could give the feature to all factions but limit it.

For example you have to own half the regions in a single province to be to be able to trade regions with the other factions, that should stop people and the AI being able to get regions crazy far away for loads of money !
