    Default Pity party?

Ok, now I know I'm not the best player in the world or anything but I think the AI just sat there and felt sorry for me and gave me a crap load of free stuff. Right now in my castle I just looked and I have about 4 new generals....from...no where, they aren't adopted, they don't show up on my genealogy list or anything. I can't tell you where they came from. Secondly, and a bit more pathetic, I can recruit an infinite amount of general bodyguards which don't cost any maintenance. Yes, if I wanted I could make 100's of armys with nothing but general bodyguards.

I don't use cheats or anything as I like the difficulty but I feel bad when the AI thinks I need some assistance

Well, I think I answered my own question. I have the horse stable or whatever that building is called in the castle and I suppose that allows me to train generals, (which is actually really handy since almost all mine just died lol). Still, I would think that's a bit OP if I just put all those generals in one army and galloped across Europe, wouldn't it?

If you had generals in a city and you don't know where they came from, you must have (like you said) recruited them via "general's bodyguards". Each bodyguard comes with its own general.

but what about the no upkeep?
It's not a question of where it grips it. It's a simple questions of weight ratios; a five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.

It's true, no upkeep. Ithink they cost about 555 or so to make and 0 upkeep after that but then again I'm pretty sure that your bodyguard don't cost any upkeep for your king or anything either, though ihaven't checked.

Check your difficulty level. It's best to play this mod on very hard for both settings. It takes 10 turns or more for a new bodyguard unit to become available. So if you want to have a really weird army of only nobles, then you must wait 20x10= 200 turns to make the 'army' or less if you are adding in family members and adoptions. Not sure how fun that would be. Also, a spear heavy army would easily mop up your cavalry.
