An old hard drive won't impact performance, just load times (and it's also unreliable, you should upgrade a hard drive every 4 years max, recommended 3 years).
My screen res is by default 1600x900 but lately GTX-660 offers bigger res that does not change much in my LCD screen.

My pc finds some dificulties when more than 4 armies are in a forest or city battle maps!

TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.

That's why you can run at such high settings. #1 it's lower than 1080p #2 you've got AA turned off, which is what makes games look so smooth (but also takes a lot of GPU power, because it's up-sampling the images at higher resolution, then down-sampling again for the smooth effect). You've also got Depth of Field on low and SSAO off. An average of 40fps on these settings with this hardware is expected. It's a great setup, and if you're happy with the performance you're getting, then you probably won't need an upgrade Though if you were thinking about upgrading (which is why you're here? ), how much would you be thinking of spending?

Actually a new screen LED would be in my future upgrades in the next months -if i will still be alive- and a possible replacement of the hard disk with one of new technology.
Could a 1080p res screen , couse troubles in my game's performance -as is- or it would help the data/graphics proccesing?
Abbout AA i use the card's settings about this game...
I am a total noob when it comes to such things!

Guys, are the requierments of Attila really higher than those of Rome 2? I am asking, because I dont understand these things really well, and there are some experts here.

I have Asus GTX 750ti 2GB, core i5 4670, 8gigs of ram and I play on 22 inch monitor 1920x1080. (this machine was assembled with the idea of a cost-effectivness)
I play Rome 2 on ultra, with no AA and Vegetation alpha, and I have no complaints.
So on what settings would this PC run Attila in your oppinion? I am asking, because these days the games are becoming incredibly heavy, and I am kind of worried

Ok I have my new set up ready; ran benchmark on Rome II at Extreme settings with an average FPS of over 60 (mostly around 90-100 at the start, dropped to 59 for a brief second but was quickly gone again).

One problem though; my processor is BOILING in there. I actually smelled it after running the benchmark (so I'm avoiding playing games until I get this sorted). I have a CIT Neptune case; do you lads think that a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo will fit in there? I mean my CPU runs on average of 60 idle, and I can only dread it's temperature when it's tested ingame!

hmm 1 card gtx 990 or hd 7990, should be enough, cross fire if you want overkill it, for processor any quad 4 ghz should fine, i5 is recommend, i7 hmm if you like up to date, octa core is not recommend unless they started using 8 core in the attila

    Well the solution is
    - buy better cooler
    - if you like tarzan style, open cpu case and play in room that have Air Conditioner only (i know its cheap)
    - depend on what processor you have and mother board, you can automatic or manually limit the overclock so its not overheat, mine using i5 4670 k no cooler , just pure AIR Conditioner dependent, run fine on 4.3 ghz, above it need extra cooler or i get blue screen if try running other heavy graphic games. But browsing play light thing should no problem on 5.0 ghz

How far is the difference if you compare the GTX560ti to a regular GTX 760?

if you anyone can wait for the 960Ti, is has a great performance and 256bit memory bus and also the same chip as the 970 and 980 so just some features downgraded. I suspect the price range will be around 260-300 € so a bit below the 970.

you gpu is a low end gpu from 2007. I have no idea what your cpu is. laptop cpu? cause it has the HQ subfix. an 8 years old low end laptop? I think it has trouble playing medieval 2 total war, let alone rome 2 or attila. you are way below minimum pc requirements. do you want to buy the game just to test your laptop? I doubt it.

if you want a laptop no matter what, get the sager np8672 laptop. barebones version costs about 1550$ usd, cheapest 980m gaming laptop. but everyone should get the 30 days no dead pixel guarantee. you get a good cpu + 980m(which is about the same as a desktop 770) plays every single game out now with max or near max settings in 1080p.

2gb v ram of 960 = useless, trash of a gpu. the end. there is no need for discussion.

Sure there is. There's more to GPU performance than VRAM. The GTX 960 is shaping up to be a great budget option for those of us still playing at 1080P and still has some bite in the 1440P arena as well. I can see this card sticking around for at least a couple years.

Supposedly nvidia is launching a 4GB version of the GTX 960 in March, so I'd honestly hold out for that if possible. At the very least it would give CA some time to patch Attila, which is inevitable.

not with the way pc ports are being made. just look at a few examples of recent releases requiring 4gb vram. it will only get worst. 960 is trash even before it's release.

trash is trash, is trash. please don't tell others to buy trash. even if unintentionally.

to get the lowest prices on hardware, keep an eye on the build a pc sales sub reddit. you will save alot http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/ it is where I got the superb 200$ deal a few months ago. for the lazy this http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/video-...&c=152&sort=a8 is another great website to use. 30$ more for 30% or more(in some cases, way more) performance. it is a no brainer.

I honestly don't know how Tom's does it. my 280x, before I upgraded to 290 had a ton of trouble with ultra in 1080p in maintaining playable fps when I fight alot of orcs all at once or/and turn/move really fast(when you ride a caragor) my fps dips to below 20 at times. even if they are just temporary dips, it still annoyed me to no end. if these 2gb cards can only do 40 fps now, how bad will they be in a year? 2 years? being relevant right now =/= recommendation. especially with a price tag of 210$

never recommend cards that is just good enough right now as they would be trash in 6 months or a year later. especially with something like 290 that is only 30$ more.

I was thinking of upgrading my HD 7870 to this....
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150697

My only concern is my PSU which is a Thermaltake Smart Series M750 being enough as my CPU is an FX8350.
    Your thoughts?

my psu is a 650 watt, a 750 watt is more than good enough. but why upgrade though? 7870 is good enough, wait till the end of spring. 380x is rumored to be 50% improvement over 290x. that is 50%. I would 100% wait a few months if were you. in a few months you might be able to pay 550$ for 380x that would probably be your gpu till the next gen of consoles are release in 10 years time if you stay in 1080p.

@shap it is a 840m http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-....105681.0.html this is what I found with a google. scroll down for game benchmarks. doesn't look good bro. playing well isn't gonna happen.
