Minor mod help please

I'm new to the forums and modding and am currently trying to create some new units by basically using existing ones in RTR 6.0 gold. Is there any link or threads that have a basic breakdown on how to do this? I am trying to create one elite/hero type unit for each faction in the campaign with modded stats for basic entertainment purposes, especially in a siege. Any help or advice would be much appreciated as I have been browsing the forums to find info and haven't found anything that has helped much with using existing data.

well if u wann give ur units heroic stats {i mean great attck great defence ,morale etc }
then oprn up export_decr_unit text file from ur data folder
read the paragraph which will explain how each unit is defined ,u will get it on ur own .

use ctrl+F command to serch any particular word. in note pad {faction name ,unit name etc}

Thanks for the response. Well I was thinking of leaving the original units as they were and creating new ones using the same skins, etc. just different names and stats. Thanks again for your help.

for that u can always follow tutorials {tutorial section}
tutorials will explain how to create new units
but re unit stat balancing, u will have to learn it by ur self .
